Those 11 Bundesliga players have scored a total of 12 goals by the completion of the first round of fixtures in the group stage (17 June). Only players based in England have produced higher totals (16 players, 19 goals).
Harry Kane (England/Bayern Munich) – 2 goals
England 4-2 Croatia (1-0) – Group L, Matchday 1
Kane originally saw a penalty saved by Dominik Livaković but was allowed to retake after the Croatia goalkeeper came off his line. The Bayern Munich striker made no mistake with his second attempt to put England ahead in the 12th minute in Dallas.

Kane’s second goal of the tournament was a powerful header from a Declan Rice corner that took him to 81 goals in 115 senior caps and equalled Gary Lineker’s England record of 10 goals in World Cup finals.
Luis Díaz (Colombia/Bayern Munich) – 1 goal

Bayern’s Díaz scored on his World Cup debut to restore Colombia’s lead over first-time qualifiers Uzbekistan at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, beating goalkeeper Utkir Yusupov’s outstretched hand with a sweeping right-footed finish from the left of centre in the 65th minute.
Gio Reyna (USA/Borussia Mönchengladbach) – 1 goal
United States 4-1 Paraguay (4-1) – Group D, Matchday 1
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Reyna scored the pick of the goals to wrap up the USA’s opening victory over Paraguay – the first time the USMNT have scored four in a World Cup game – with a sublime outside-of-the-boot finish from just inside the penalty area in the 94th minute in Los Angeles. His was the first by a Bundesliga player this tournament.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder kicked off Germany’s World Cup campaign in Houston with the opening goal after just six minutes, exchanging a one-two with Florian Wirtz to the left of the D before picking out the far corner with his right foot.

The Dortmund centre-back restored Germany’s lead over the World Cup debutants with a flicked header from an in-swinging Nathaniel Brown corner in the 38th minute.

Musiala’s first World Cup goal was created by a through ball up the inside right channel by captain and Bayern teammate Joshua Kimmich, with Germany’s No.10 angling his first-time finish low across goal and into the far corner in the 47th minute.
Nathaniel Brown (Germany/Eintracht Frankfurt) – 1 goal

The Eintracht Frankfurt left-back marked his World Cup debut with a right-footed volley from 12 yards out after Deniz Undav flicked up a pass into the penalty area in the 68th minute.

The VfB Stuttgart striker got his seventh goal on his 10th Germany appearance when Kimmich collected a low cross across the box from the right and squared for Undav to sweep home from seven yards out in the 78th minute.
Connor Metcalfe (Australia/St. Pauli) – 1 goal

The St. Pauli midfielder put Bundesliga relegation behind him by rounding off Australia’s opening victory with a long-range left-footed finish into the bottom right corner after 75 minutes in Vancouver.

Sweden 5-1 Tunisia (4-1) – Group F, Matchday 1
The Wolfsburg midfielder scored only 12 seconds after coming off the bench to get Sweden’s fourth goal against Tunisia in the 84th minute in Monterrey. His finish from a free-kick into the penalty area was originally ruled out for offside, but the ball took a touch off Alexander Isak, meaning the goal was awarded after review.
Romano Schmid (Austria/Werder Bremen) – 1 goal
Austria 3-1 Jordan (1-0) – Group J, Matchday 1
Werder Bremen’s Schmid scored Austria’s first World Cup goal since 1998 with a thumping right-footed effort into the top right corner from 20 yards, after being teed up by RB Leipzig’s Xaver Schlager 21 minutes into their opener against Jordan in San Francisco.
