Julian Nagelsmann's side received a hero's welcome when they landed in Toronto ahead of their second Group E game against Côte d'Ivoire.

Germany's plan for the day

Kick-off in Toronto is at 4pm local time – later than Germany's 7-1 win against Curaçao. Germany will start the day with breakfast at 9:30am, followed by meetings and a briefing at the hotel, with lunch scheduled for 12:30 pm. After a short meeting at 2pm, the team will head to the stadium. The return flight to their North Carolina HQ is scheduled for 9pm local time following the match.

"“The goal definitely felt really good," Musiala added in his interview with Bild of his strike against Curaçao. "I don’t think I’ve been as happy as I was in that moment since my injury – that was certainly one of my best games since I came back. A lot of things worked well, and I felt free and good out on the pitch. I’ll take that feeling with me.”

Musiala expecting tough encounter

“I think my role in our game will remain similar,” the Bayern attacker told Germany’s Bild newspaper in the build-up to the team’s second game at the World Cup. “The difference is that Ivory Coast have an even stronger attack, so I’ll have to do even more defensive work and put in a lot of energy. But I’m enjoying that more and more now. Winning the ball back is a lot of fun too. Going forward, we have to take our chances when we get them. If we keep playing the way we did against Curaçao, we should create enough chances.”

As for Germany's World Cup hopes, Neuer is adamant Julian Nagelsmann's side can go all the way. "I believe the team can do it," he said. I wouldn't be here otherwise. It would be very special to win it a second time. If I didn't see us doing it, I wouldn't be sitting here right now."

Neuer sheds light on return

It was Manuel Neuer's turn to address the media on Thursday as Die Mannschaft's second group game against Côte d'Ivoire draws ever closer. Asked about his return to the national side, Neuer said: "I retired for a good reason. From a fitness perspective, those two years [for club and country] would have been too much for me."

Germany captain Joshua Kimmich spoke to reporters on Tuesday about Leipzig and Côte d'Ivoire sensation Yan Diomande. "He has developed at an incredible rate. A year ago, hardly anyone knew who he was. He's had an outstanding season in a team where things haven't always gone smoothly, but he has performed consistently well and produced some spectacular moments," the Bayern ace explained. "His dribbling is exceptional and he has frightening pace. However, Côte d'Ivoire have plenty of other players too, so we'll need to prepare properly."
