Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeneß discusses futures of ‘best attacking trio in the world’
Despite persistent transfer speculation, Bayern Munich have remained steadfast in their assertions that Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Díaz will all remain at the Allianz Arena for the upcoming 2026/27 season. That stance was reiterated by the club’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß on Thursday.
Given that the 74-year-old is no stranger to speaking his mind, it came as little surprise that he made sure to address the futures of Bayern’s star-studded front three Kane, Olise, and Díaz in unequivocal terms.
In the aftermath of the Bavarians’ 15-0 thrashing of Rottach-Egern in their second pre-season friendly, the honorary president said: "We'd have to be crazy [to sell them]. We'd then end up chasing other players without even knowing whether they'd succeed here."
Hoeneß's remarks also underscore recent comments from CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen: Bayern have no intention of letting their star players leave this summer.
"We're in the fortunate position of having, with Díaz, Kane and Olise," continued Hoeneß. "I believe they’re the best attacking trio in the world."
With Díaz and Olise are both under contract until 2029, Bayern are themselves closed off to the possibility of negotiating any potential sale for the pair. Hoeneß added that he was particularly amused by the reported interest in the Frenchman, who finished the World Cup as the tournament's top assist provider with seven.
"I couldn't stop laughing," the 74-year-old said. "I looked up how long he still has left on his contract: another three years. As far as I'm concerned, it's simply not an issue. The Emperor of China himself could come calling."
However, the situation is slightly different for Kane. As things stand, the Englishman’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2027, though that is expected to change soon.
Bayern CEO Dreesen recently stressed that extending Kane's contract is the club's preferred outcome: "I believe there's a strong desire on both sides. Now we just have to make sure those intentions align."
That outlook is one that is likewise shared by Hoeneß, who has faith the England captain will sign a new deal: "I haven't spoken to Harry directly, but I hear that he's extremely happy in Munich, and we're extremely happy with him as well. There's really no reason why he should leave next year."
