Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry ahead of Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund: "We want to make another statement"

It may still be early in the season, but Saturday's Bundesliga Matchday 8 Klassiker encounter between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund could have a big say in the title race.

With that in mind, we gathered together the pre-game thoughts from both camps ahead of Saturday's showdown at the Allianz Arena.

Serge Gnabry (Bayern winger): “I’m looking forward to it a lot. The top two teams going against each other. In this period of time it’s a very big game, and also a very important one if you look at the table. For sure we want to win, make another statement and continue to be on top."

Harry Kane (Bayern striker): “Obviously we’re level in points at the moment. Both teams have started the season well. It’s always a big game. Especially at the Allianz Arena, we want to put the result in our favour. We have a busy week so we have to get the best out of our recovery. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully it’ll be a great evening.”

Aaron Danks (Bayern assistant coach): "We’re going through a spell at the moment where we don’t have long to rest and recover, but we’re looking forward to it. It’s a really exciting week, a tough schedule, we’re looking forward to it."

Felix Nmecha (Dortmund midfielder): "We’re very excited. I don’t think I need to say anything about the big one. We will see."

Niko Kovač (Dortmund coach): "We are very good at the moment, but Bayern are also really good. And you have to over perform to even have a chance of getting past Bayern. But Bayern also have to underperform. Even if Bayern play at a consistently good level, it will be difficult to knock them off the throne."
