Bundesliga clubs' 2026/27 pre-season schedules: tours, friendlies and training

Life is returning to Bundesliga training grounds as teams start to get back to business preparing for the 2026/27 campaign. Find out what every club has planned for their pre-season preparations this summer...

The 2026/27 Bundesliga season kicks off on Friday 28 August, when champions Bayern Munich begin the defence of their title at home to VfB Stuttgart. For most teams, their first competitive fixture will be the DFB Cup first round on 21-24 August. It's all a week later than the previous year due to the FIFA World Cup 2026, which concludes on 19 July.

As Bundesliga champions and DFB Cup winners, Bayern will also look to retain the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup away at Borussia Dortmund on 22 August. Their DFB Cup fixtures have been moved to 1/2 September.

*All times in CEST unless specified. Location and kick-off times are subject to change.

Sebastian Hoeneß's post-match assessment

“The conditions were brilliant, we experienced a great crowd in Balingen. Of course, we know we have to put the 7-0 win in context. The boys showed good enthusiasm, didn’t concede at all and were consistent in a lot of their play. I’m pleased with the opening performance.”

After Borussia Dortmund began pre-season training, coach Niko Kovač told the club website: "If you break it down by the three competitions we had, you can be satisfied with the Bundesliga season. Every single player can improve—technically, tactically, and physically."
