Shortly after, the final whistle blows and FCK must somehow feel frustrated despite coming back from a 0-2 deficit. It's unbelievable. Opoku delivers the ball into the penalty area, Mause holds it up strongly and lays it off to Ache, who pushes the ball from the penalty spot onto the right post.

For the visitors, securing a point is now the priority, and after the equaliser, they have fully committed to defending. So far successfully, as Lautern have not created any more clear-cut chances since the 2-2 draw.

Lautern coach Anfang makes a double substitution, with Gyamerah and Mause coming on. Will one of these subs provide the lucky punch?

Lautern keep looking for their goal-getter. His deflected shot from the edge of the penalty area goes just a metre wide of the goal. The striker acknowledges his bad luck in front of goal with an incredulous smile.

What a rocket from the striker. He takes aim from 20 metres out and hammers the ball against the right angle of post and bar. The marksman has been plagued by bad luck so far, hitting the woodwork for the second time today.

The second half of what has been a spectacular match so far is now in progress.

Three goals at the Betzenberg, one from the penalty spot, plus a sending-off. Kaiserslautern have had the upper hand since at least the 30th minute, with Ache and the impressive Yokota repeatedly causing danger. Earlier, Magdeburg seemed to have everything under control after their early double strike, but now it's all to play for. Especially as the hosts will be playing with a man advantage following the red card for Magdeburg's Michel.

Three goals, one penalty, one sending-off - the stoppage time reflects this accordingly.

Tactical change for Magdeburg. Hoti comes on for attacking player Nollenberger to strengthen the defence.

After the goal to pull one back and with the numerical advantage, Lautern now sense an early equaliser. Ache cuts in from the right into the penalty area, but his low shot from about 16 metres lands in Reimann's hands.

Having given away the penalty, Michel can't help himself and fouls Yokota again. The busy Lautern player runs towards the penalty area and is pushed by Michel. There's hardly any other choice. A crazy match, Magdeburg now down to ten men.

It's a well-deserved goal for the home side, who have remained calm despite the clear deficit. Ache had already had two chances before this, and Lautern are now well in the game.

Seemingly the first quiet phase of the match, Magdeburg tries to control possession.

That should have been the goal to pull one back. Yokota dribbles through half of Magdeburg's defence from the left and lays it back to Ache near the byline, but the striker fails to make proper contact with the ball from about six metres out, allowing the visitors to clear for a corner.

Magdeburg remains a constant threat, Gnaka sends Loric into the penalty area, who tries to play it across, but Krahl snatches the ball.

What an opening quarter of an hour on the Betzenberg. First, it's back and forth, and then the visitors, who were winless in their last three league matches, strike twice in quick succession. How will Kaiserslautern react to this double blow?

The match remains intense and fast-paced in the Palatinate. The game is only interrupted occasionally due to minor fouls.

Both teams start with an open approach. A Kaiserslautern advance through Ache ends with a foul by Loric on the striker. However, the subsequent free-kick from the right side is too high and lands behind the goal line.

Loric's cross lands with the goalkeeper Krahl, his punch then finds its way to Hercher, whose long-range shot from the right doesn't pose any problems for the home side's keeper.

Coach Christian Titz makes three changes to his starting eleven compared to the 0-3 defeat against Hannover: Loric, Michel and Nollenberger come in for El Hankouri, Amaechi and Krempicki.

Manager Markus Anfang makes five changes to his starting lineup compared to the 1-2 DFB-Pokal defeat in Stuttgart: Aremu, Kaloc, Kleinhansl, Ronstadt and Hanslik come in for Redondo, Wekesser, Zimmer, Heuer and Ritter.
