Leverkusen started the game well and looked a threat on the counter, but since the opener, a mixture of Leverkusen mistakes and good Bayern football has the hosts out of sight. Gnabry opened the scoring after 25 minutes before Jackson doubled the scoring six minutes later. Then, just before the break, a Badé own goal only further piled on the misery. It seems Leverkusen's incredible unbeaten away run is coming to an end as Bayern continue to run away at the top of the table.

Standing out in a Bayern attack line that contains so much talent is not easy, yet Michael Olise has been doing that week in, week out for the record champions since moving to Bavaria in July 2024. Last season's Bundesliga assist king has picked up where he left off in 2024/25, scoring four goals and laying on three assists already this term.

Czech striker Patrik Schick is in line for his first Bundesliga start since recovering from a hamstring injury. The formidable forward played the first half of Leverkusen's dramatic midweek DFB Cup win against Paderborn and his full availability presents Saturday's visitors to the Allianz Arena with an important extra option up top.

Tah's big day

The Germany defender will certainly be feeling all the feels as he lines out against his former side for the first time with Bayern. A Bundesliga and DFB Cup double winner with Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso in 2023/24, Tah made over 400 appearances for the Werkself between 2015 and 2025. “I’ve obviously still got a lot of links to the club," the 29-year-old said this week.

Posting nine goal involvements in your first eight Bundesliga games is insane, but Luis Díaz has done just that and although the encounters are now coming thick and fast for the Colombian, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany is confident the Colombian can cope. "We have a slight advantage in that he's used to this high intensity," Kompany said. "He's done this many times in his career, playing three matches in quick succession."

Tillman touch and go

Former Bayern youth teamer and USMNT international Malik Tillman would, no doubt, love to be involved in this game but the 23-year-old is currently working hard on his comeback from a thigh complaint and remains a doubt. "He's training with us today and then we'll see," Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand said in response to Tillman's availability for the Bayern clash.

Alejandro Grimaldo has scored four direct free-kicks for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this season, so Kompany is wary: "I hope we won't concede any dangerous free-kicks or commit stupid fouls, and that the goalkeeper will help us out in this situation. I hope he doesn't have an unbelievable free-kick day."
