Maina floats a cross into the Gladbach box from just inside the Foals' half. Sebulonsen hits it on the volley, but his effort is blocked. Another Cologne effort is blocked before a chipped ball finds Ache's head, but the substitute can only steer it wide.

Sebulonsen fires an inviting cross in from the right, finding Bülter at the far post. The striker meets the ball in the air, but his header flies narrowly wide.

A long ball up from the back is played to Ache, who heads it down into the path of Waldschmidt. The substitute goes it alone, hitting a stunning volley from at least 30 yards which loops over Nicolas and nestles in the back of the net. However, it won't stand, as the flag had been raised for an offside against Ache.

The substitute rises highest to meet a corner from the left with his head, but he can only guide the ball into the arms of Nicolas.

Kwasniok makes a further two changes, introducing two attacking-minded players - Maina and Waldschmidt - for Lund and Özkacar.

A low cross from the left finds Bülter again. He's in a significantly more threatening position this time, but a last-ditch challenge from Diks prevents the former Hoffenheim man from getting a shot away from close range.

Up the other end, a cross from the left is met on the volley by Bülter, who flicks the ball goalwards with his heel. It's a good effort, but ultimately lands on the roof of the net.

Neuhaus picks his head up and spots Honorat unmarked in behind the Cologne defence at the half-way line. He releases him with a fine through pass, but Schwäbe is quick off his line and times his tackle to perfection to prevent what would've been a certain goal else.

Tabaković steps up to take it, aiming for the bottom left corner, but Schwäbe reads it fantastically and gets down to make the stop.

The Cologne man is the first of his teammates to pick up a yellow card for a high foot on Engelhardt.

El Mala gets to the byline down the left and lifts a cross to Schmied on the edge of the box. The defender connects well with the volley, but fires it straight at his teammate Jóhannesson, who blocks his effort inside Gladbach's penalty area.

A good Cologne move is worked to El Mala on the edge of the box. The young winger opens up his body and lets an effort fly, but it's straight at Nicolas, who smothers the attempt.

The No.11 takes the resultant free-kick, whipping a dangerous cross towards the far post. However, Sander is there to head it clear.
