“Never again is now!”

Under this slogan, German professional football is commemorating the victims of National Socialism on and around 27 January, the date of liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. This is the 20th year in which the DFL and the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs have been involved in the “day of commemoration in German football” in cooperation with the “!Nie Wieder” (“!Never Again”) initiative. In light of current events, the day of commemoration around Matchdays 19 and 20 (26–28 January and 2–4 February) will focus on the topic of antisemitism.

Watch: What RBL are missing today

Xavi scored a belter against Leverkusen last weekend...

Onus on Undav

Stuttgart have stuttered in recent weeks and clearly miss Serhou Guirassy in attack, so the onus is on Deniz Undav to fire Stuttgart in his strike-partner's absence. Meanwhile, Atakan Karazor misses out this week after collecting a fifth yellow card of the campaign on Matchday 18.

No Xavi for Leipzig

The visitors must make do without playmaker-in-chief Xavi today as he serves a one-match suspension. Expect Christoph Baumgartner and Eljif Elmas to each put forward cases to replace the PSG loanee, while Rose will hope Dani Olmo can pick up the baton after last week coming through his first Bundesliga start since September unscathed.

Watch: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 Mainz - highlights

Before we get stuck into today's action, here's how Matchday 19 got underway last night as Mario Götze's second-half goal earned Frankfurt victory over Mainz.
camera-photo

Rose's view on Stuttgart

"They're a good team in good form. It'll be tough in Stuttgart. They have a good plan, good players in their ranks. Even with Guirassy missing, they have a goalscorer up front in Undav. They deserve to be where they are this season. Sebastien Hoeneß wants to play attractive football. They've also lost their first two games this year, but they definitely shouldn't have when you watch the games. I'm expecting an even game."
camera-photo

Hoeneß's view on Leipzig

"I don't think we're going to start defending deep, especially at home. So no, the approach will be one that allows us to stay true to ourselves. We'll try to do the things we've done well over long stretches in this game. And yet, of course, you always have to look at the opposition, your own shape, and then perhaps make adjustments here and there, without being able to go into detail. But basically, there won't be a different style of play with or without the ball. RB Leipzig are an absolute top team. We learned in the reverse fixture that they can generate incredible force, have power on the pitch and are of course also able to add more power to the team. Nevertheless, we're confident of being able to cause them problems at home. And of course we're really up for it now."

Missing Guirassy

Stuttgart have lost all four matches this season they have played without 17-goal striker Serhou Guirassy, who is away with Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations.
