Leverkusen vs. Bayern: combined Fantasy XI so far

xwhatsappmailcopy-link

Bayer Leverkusen take on Bayern Munich in The Big One on Saturday. Who have been their best players in Bundesliga Fantasy so far?

Leverkusen are undefeated across their 20 games so far, conceding the fewest goals league-wide (just 14!) despite Xabi Alonso's side being lauded, rightly, for their attacking prowess.

Bayern are the 11-time defending champions, meanwhile, and their 50-point haul means two teams have hit a half century at this stage of the season for the first time in Bundesliga history.

Bayer's wing-backs Álex Grimaldo and Jeremie Frimpong have given Leverkusen wings, quite literally, but for their Frimaldo, Bayern have KaneSanéty - Harry Kane and Leroy Sané, who have combined for 32 goals and 16 assists this season.

You might not be able to afford all of the following players ahead of the weekend, but packing your team with a few of them is sure to bring you significant hauls…

Goalkeeper

Lukáš Hrádecký (Leverkusen), 141pts

Defenders

Jeremie Frimpong (Leverkusen), 258pts

Only Jonas Hofmann - who also makes this team - outscored Jeremie Frimpong for points scored last season among active players, and the Dutchman has picked up where he left off, contributing five goals and six assists to Leverkusen's title charge. With Alphonso Davies, another member of this select, injured, he could have free reign up the right on Saturday.

Noussair Mazraoui (Bayern), 119pts

Alphonso Davies (Bayern) 172pts

Álex Grimaldo (Leverkusen), 312pts

The top-scoring player in Fantasy, bar none, Grimaldo has been a revelation since joining Leverkusen from Benfica - on a free! - last summer, playing his way into the Spain squad with seven goals and nine assists - an incredible haul for a nominal left-back. He also happens to be on sale before the big game, at 14.4m down from his usual 16m.

Midfielders

Jonas Hofmann (Leverkusen), 194pts

Jamal Musiala (Bayern), 149pts

Florian Wirtz (Leverkusen), 232pts

Forwards

Leroy Sané (Bayern), 253pts

Normally wingers listed as midfielders are safer bets than those listed as forwards, but it is testament to Leroy Sané's blistering form this season that he makes this team despite being categorised as the latter. Eight goals and 11 assists are impressive, while he has also racked up 94 points for shots and passes to a shot that didn't result in goals.

Harry Kane (Bayern), 293pts

FPL royalty, Kane has, perhaps unsurprisingly, translated that to Bundesliga Fantasy. The England captain has scored a Bundesliga-high 24 goals, the first 22 of which matched Robert Lewandowski's record for the first half of a season. The Pole has a Bundesliga record of 41, which is another mark Kane is on course to match. The most expensive player in the game at 20.4m, but worth every cent.
