Fixture scheduling explained
As always, the requirements of local authorities, security authorities, the Central Information Centre for Sports Operations (ZIS) and the wishes of clubs and stadium operations were taken into account when drawing up the match schedules. For example, neighbouring clubs are required to play their home matches at different times.
Software has been used for several years to create the fixture list, weighing up various constellations and interests in order to achieve the best possible result. The exact kick-off times are determined during the course of the season, factoring in domestic cup, European and international fixtures, public holidays and other major events.
