Harry Kane: The Bayern Munich and England striker's Bundesliga career in numbers

xwhatsappmailcopy-link

Harry Kane has backed up the hype since his move to Bayern Munich from the English Premier League. bundesliga.com crunches the numbers behind the England captain's electric start in Bayern colours...

1 - Kane made his Bayern debut in the Supercup against RB Leipzig, which Die Roten Bullen won 3-0. Hardly the start the England captain was looking for, but things have improved dramatically since then.

3 - The 30-year-old is just the third Englishman to play for Bayern, following in the footsteps of Owen Hargreaves and Omar Richards. That matches the number of hat-tricks Kane has scored in the first 11 matches of the 2023/24 season - an achievement only one player in Bundesliga history had previously managed.

4 - Assists for Leroy Sané during the 2023/24 Bundesliga season to date - out of the five goals Kane has set up in total so far. The former Tottenham Hotspur forward also became just the fourth England player to score a hat-trick in the German top flight after Kevin Keegan, Tony Woodcock and Jadon Sancho, against Bochum during Matchday 5, although he repeated that feat again versus Darmstadt and Dortmund.

7 – It was such an awesome start for Kane in Bavaria that he quickly became the first-ever Bayern player to score seven times in his first five games for the Bundesliga giants.

9 – Indeed, it was to get even better for the English goal-getter when he bumped that up to nine goals in his opening eight matches in the German top flight - becoming the first Bayern player to achieve that too, while only three players in Bundesliga history (Gert Dörfel, Paco Alcácer and Erling Haaland) have been faster to that mark. Nine is indeed a symbolic number for Kane, as the Londoner dons the No. 9 shirt at his new club previously worn by Bayern and Bundesliga phenomenon Robert Lewandowski.

15 - Kane's Klassiker hat-trick took him to a staggering 15 goals in his first 10 Bundesliga appearances. That is a record after 10 career outings in the German top flight, while only the legendary Gerd Müller had previously scored that many at the same stage of a season, in 1968/69.

Watch: Kane under the tactical microscope

17 – Games in all competitions for Bayern. For Bundesliga, Champions League and Supercup, read check, check, check. The formidable striker has racked up 17 games in three competitions and only now awaits a maiden appearance in the DFB Cup, but that won't come until 2024/25 at the earliest.

18 – Kane's current tally in the Bundesliga from only 12 appearances. The previous record for a player to reach 18 career goals in the German top flight was 18 games by Uwe Seeler back in the league's maiden campaign in 1963/64. The previous record after 12 matchdays of a season was 17 goals by Gerd Müller.

20 September – The day Bayern's newly signed frontman netted his first UEFA Champions League goal for his new side in the group stage opener against Manchester United.

23 – With 23 goal involvements after 12 matches, Kane became the most potent attacker at this stage of a Bundesliga season since records began.

32.68 km/h – A cerebral player not necessarily known for his pace, Bayern's on-fire marksman has nonetheless clocked an impressive sprint time in Germany.

46 – Minutes per goal involvement in the Bundesliga. Kane has been busy in his opening Bundesliga matches, as grateful teammates and opposition goalkeepers can attest to.

49 – The number of shots Kane has mustered in the Bundesliga so far.

56.4 – the distance, in metres, Kane was positioned from the Darmstadt goal when sinking a dream strike from his own half in netting a hat-trick during an 8-0 win on Matchday 9.

74 – It didn't take Kane long to get up and running on the goalscoring front in the Bundesliga. In fact, the Englishman was off the mark after 74 minutes of his top-flight debut against Werder Bremen.

109.3 – the shot speed in km/h that Kane's hat-trick goal in a big 4-0 Klassiker win over Borussia Dortmund in Matchday 10 was measured at.

122.5 – kilometres Kane has covered in the top flight.

1,052 – The amount of time Kane has spent on the field in the Bundesliga in 2023/24.

2027 – When Kane moved to the Allianz Arena during the summer, he penned a deal at Bayern that ran until 2027.
