The Missouri native has started 24 of Werder’s 26 Bundesliga fixtures in 2020/21, with one substitute appearance and two missed through injury. Five goals and two assists only partially show the 21-year-old's importance to the Bremen team, with his 664 sprints the most of any player in green and white, and his 274 challenges won the best at the club.

Sargent was a second-half substitute in the 3-1 defeat in Dortmund on Matchday 29, passing up two reasonable chances to get on the scoresheet.
