I believe in my team. That's why we're going into the game with optimism. I don't buy into the idea that we have nothing to lose. I have to be honest and say that you always have something to lose. we'll give it our all, together and unconditionally, with our fans. We believe we can get three points here at home."

Rômulo told the Bundesliga: "I think for every Brazilian player, the biggest dream is to represent Brazil, to wear the yellow shirt. Being in the Bundesliga and playing for a club like Leipzig brings me closer to that. Of course, if I score goals and play well, it gets even closer. So yes, that dream is very much alive. I’m still young too, I’m 23, so there’s plenty of time to wear the national team shirt at least once."

Rômulo returns

Leipzig's Brazilian striker scored the first of his six Bundesliga goals so far in the win over Heidenheim in August. He has credited that along with the welcome his teammates and club staff gave him for settling in so well, telling the Bundesliga: "Scoring a goal on your first start takes pressure off any striker, so you don’t carry that feeling of having to score as soon as possible."

Leipzig struggling

Leipzig's form has dropped in their past few games. They did manage to beat Freiburg 2-0 on Matchday 17, but they have lost the other three matches in the last four. They have conceded at least thrice in all of those defeats, too, including five against Bayern last time out.

Heidenheim's improved resilience

Frank Schmidt's side are still in some trouble at the wrong end of the table, but their predicament has significantly improved in recent weeks. Back-to-back wins over Union Berlin and Freiburg towards the end of last year were very welcome, and recent draws with Cologne and Wolfsburg further underline their improvement.
