Machino's chipped ball over the Leipzig defence releases Tolkin down the left. The American wing-back plays it on to Skrzybski, who tries to lay it back off to him with a backheel, but Klostermann manages to clear. Bernhardsson retrieves it and shoots from the edge of the box, but the powerful effort is blocked.

You can't say that hasn't been coming. From the goalkeeper, Kiel play out from the back to beat Leipzig's press once again. Rosenboom is found on the right, who then plays Skrzybski through down the channel. The No. 7 gets his head up, spots Machino at the far post, and just plays it into his path, allowing the Japanese international to smash it home from inside the box. 1-0!

The Kiel centre-back gets on the end of the Tolkin-taken free-kick, but he can only steer the header over the bar. Kiel are still just lacking that precision in the final third.

Kiel work it really nicely out of defence to beat the Leipzig press. Rosenboom is played through down the right flank, but his attempted through ball to Machino is intercepted. That move had real potential...

Leipzig have been struggling somewhat in the last five minutes as Kiel are applying the pressure. Most recently, a Tolkin corner from the left was met by a Kiel head in the box, but Leipzig managed to clear.

Rosenboom is the first player to go into the book this afternoon for preventing a counter-attack by impeding Baumgartner.

Machino's long throw troubles Gulácsi, who can only punch it straight back to the Japanese international. The Kiel man tries to follow it up with a cross, but Lukeba and Batshiabu come across to close him down.

Kiel counter-attack nicely, with Bernhardsson finding Machino on the edge of the box. The Japanese international tries to get past Nedeljkovic, but the full-back stays with him, blocking the shot behind for a corner. The visitors can't make anything of it, though.

There's a stoppage as Kiel midfielder Remberg stays down following a challenge. He gets to his feet to have further treatment on the sidelines, but he has since returned to the pitch.

Tolkin takes the subsequent corner, his deep delivery proving uncomfortable for Gulácsi, who tips it behind for another corner from the opposite side. The American takes again, but fails to trouble the Leipzig goal on the second time of asking.

Skrzybski intercepts a pass at the back from Leipzig and instantly looks to punish the hosts. He spots Gulácsi off his line, attempting a chipped effort from around 40 yards, but the goalkeeper just manages to scramble back to tip it behind for a corner.
