The veteran has only been on the pitch a matter of moments but he wants in on the action straight away. He lines up a left-footed effort from range, but it's straight at Baumann, who makes a routine save.

Marmoush does brilliantly, collecting the ball in midfield, sprinting away from his marker and sliding a pass through for Ekitiké. He'll be one-on-one with Baumann, but Marmoush's pass is a touch over-hit and the Hoffenheim goalkeeper comes out to collect - much to Ekitiké's frustration.

The Egypt international spins his marker and lays the ball off for himself in one move on the edge of the box, but his touch is just a tad too heavy and Baumann comes off his line to smother the danger.

The Eagles' attacks were primarily down the right in the first half, but since the interval and Knauff's introduction they've found space down the left. Knauff gets to the byline and squeezes the ball back into the middle, where the arriving Götze can pick his spot from close range.

Another chance for the Frankfurt winger following more good work from Knauff, but his first-time shot from 10 yards balloons well over.

A lovely run from Knauff, who takes on Akpoguma inside the box but can only slice his shot narrowly wide.

Grillitsch gives the ball away on the edge of his own penalty area and it comes to Götze, who has time and space to float a cross into the box for Dina Ebimbe, who guides a header in from close range!

Dina Ebimbe again finds space down the right, ghosting in behind his marker to connect with a floated ball from deep. He volleys it into the middle for the unmarked Götze, who can only hit the post from close range. His blushes are spared though, as the offside flag goes up - Dina Ebimbe was marginally off when he started his run.

Knauff comes on for Chaibi, who was booked earlier on and has ridden his luck once or twice since then with a couple of risky tackles. Head coach Toppmöller clearly determined to keep his side's one-man advantage.

Brilliant skill from Marmoush, who jinks past two defenders and crosses into the box. A Hoffenheim defender sticks out a leg and almost deflects it into his own net, but it rolls just wide.

And there it is! it had been coming and Frankfurt finally get their goal. Marmoush does well to hold off his marker inside the box and lay it off for Koch, who slides a shot into the bottom corner.

The Eagles are pushing hard for an equaliser and are camped out inside Hoffenheim's half. There's a sense building that a goal will come sooner rather than later.

Chaibi takes the ensuing free-kick in prime set-piece location. He can't beat the wall though, and Hoffenheim clear.

Frankfurt get behind Hoffenheim's defence, and again it's down the right where they're having joy. Dina Ebimbe gets to the byline and tries to pick out Chaibi in the centre, but his cross his blocked.

Götze crosses low into the box from the right. Chaibi and Dina Ebimbe both go for it and seem to get in each other's way a bit. The latter ends up shooting first time but his effort trickles well wide.

Larsson finds space down the right and his low cross into the box is only half cleared. It falls for Nkounkou arriving on the edge of the area and he smacks an effort at goal, but it's blocked.

Superb play from Dina Ebimbe, who collects a neat through pass from Götze down the right, sprints into the box and cuts inside onto his left foot. He gets a shot away but it's blocked before Baumann has to intervene.
