HALF CHANCE FOR HWANG

The ball is lost by the Mainz defence and Hwang latches onto the loose ball. He races to the edge of the Mainz box but his ball across goal doesn't find a man in white and red, with Zentner grabbing it.

FUN IN THE SUN

It hasn't all been easy going for Leipzig, but Haidara's second half goal may well have sealed all three points.
81'

GOOD WORK FROM HENRICHS

The former Leverkusen man on for his Leipzig debut is in central midfield alongside Adams and has already made his first contribution. A superbly-timed tackle on Latza wins the ball back and he sends Hwang into the box, but Zentner is out quickly to grab the ball and snuff out the danger.
78'

ANGELINO AGAIN!

The Spanish full-back breaks into the Mainz box and fires a low shot at the near post. Zentner is well-placed to make a solid save to deny him.
77'

MATETA CLOSE TO A SECOND!

The Frenchman should really have his second of the game and new hope for Mainz. He's alone at the near post and rises high to meet Brosinski's cross, but sends his header over the bar. He almost put too much power behind it from that range.

BIG CHANCE FOR POULSEN

Once again the goalscorer has a huge chance as he meets Angelino's free-kick at the back post. It's a free header, and he should get it on target at the very least, but he totally miscues.
66'

OLMO TAKES A KNOCK

The Spanish playmaker has some blood coming from the back of his head after a hit from Niakhate's knee. Unfortunate one for him and with Hwang getting ready to come on, it could be the end of his game.
64'

POULSEN IN ONE-ON-ONE

The Leipzig forward finds himself in on goal with no defenders in sight after a poor pass from St. Juste and attempts to round Zentner, but the Mainz 'keeper stays big and with his run to force him wide. Poulsen beats him with his effort, but it's tame and the Mainz defence can recover the ball before it crosses the line.

OLMO GOES CLOSE

The Spaniard is played into the Mainz box and fires at goal, attempting to beat Zentner with a shot across his body, but the Mainz 'keeper makes a good save to parry it over.

KAMPL FIRES OVER

Haidara has a good run into the Mainz box from the right but gets caught in defensive traffic, so turns back to find support. He has Kampl racing to the edge of the penalty area and finds him, but the midfielder's shot goes high over the crossbar.
51'

HAIDARA RESTORES THE LEAD!

Three minutes later and Leipzig have their two-goal lead back. A disappointing one for the Mainz defence as Angelino's pass is flicked on by Poulsen to Forsberg. He battles through two Mainz defenders before laying it off to Haidara in space in the box, and the midfielder duly slots home past Zentner.

ALMOST A QUICK RESPONSE

Forsberg's swings in a free-kick but Latza is able to get a header on the ball before a Leipzig man waiting in the box. The home side looking to answer back quickly to that Mateta goal.
48'

MATETA! COMEBACK ON!?

What a start to the second half for Mainz as Quaison turns into the perfect playmaker with a dream of a through ball beyond the Leipzig defence for Mateta. He's in one-on-one and composes himself to slot the ball past Gulacsi.

SECOND HALF!

We're back underway in Leipzig with no changes to either side during the break.
後半開始

FIRST HALF IN A PICTURE

Leipzig's dominance has them deservedly ahead at the break after two goals within four minutes. The first a penalty from Forsberg which was followed up by Poulsen's superb header. A great day at the office so far for Nagelsmann and his troops.

ALMOST FOR ANGELINO

Kampl sends a perfect pass out wide to Haidara, who duly puts a cross into the box which bounces beyond everyone to Angelino at the back post. The loanee left-back's shot is deflected into the side-netting of the Mainz goal.
43'

APPROACHING THE BREAK

Leipzig have had 11 attempts on goal so far, compared to just three for Mainz - none of which have been on target. Couple that with the home side's 70 percent of possession and the lead they have is certainly a deserved one heading into half-time.
39'

DEFENCE OUTPACING ATTACK

When Mainz do get the ball, Quaison has to find a way past Upamecano in the centre of the Leipzig defence. Easier said than done when the Frenchman has been faster as well as stronger so far.

SLICK FROM LEIPZIG

A few minutes here of total control from the home side. Lovely passing and movement from back to front hasn't allowed Mainz many touches of the ball at all.

ONLY ONE TEAM HAPPY SO FAR

The Leipzig players have been able to celebrate twice already in the first half, but the game is far from over yet.
31'

VAR CHECK

A potential handball was checked by Video-Assist after Angelino's cross was deflected by Baku, but no penalty is given.
31'

FORSBERG HITS THE POST!

What a run from the Leipzig playmaker who dribbles through past two Mainz defenders into the away side's penalty area. He then takes a quick toe-poke at goal with the outside of his right foot. Zentner can only turn and watch as it bounces back out off the post, to his delight.

ALMOST POULSEN AGAIN

Angelino does superbly to skip past Baku down the left and into the Mainz box. He's always looking up for the right pass and finds Poulsen in space in front of goal, but the Dane's first-time shot is well saved by Zentner.
28'

FIRST ATTACKING PRESSURE

The away side have just had one or two minutes of good attacking movement, ending with a shot over the bar from Brosinski at the edge of the Leipzig box. Mainz showing they can press well too, as Burkardt wins the ball off Adams just outside the Leipzig penalty area.
26'

PRESS, PRESS, PRESS

What Leipzig do just as well as keep the ball is win it back from their opposition. So far, Mainz have struggled to break beyond the Leipzig press but have just won their first corner of the game.
21'

POULSEN DOUBLES THE LEAD!

Just like that and Leipzig are two goals up. Forsberg curls in a free-kick from the left and it's cleared to the back post and Olmo. He lofts the ball back across the box and Poulsen leaps high to meet it, sending an outstanding header back across goal over the head of Zentner and into the Mainz net.

Outstanding first touch from Poulsen to control a pass into him from the right flank. He turns his back to goal to collect the ball with his right foot, and sends the ball onto his left foot, past a Mainz defender, in one swift move before firing a shot at goal. This time it drifts just over the Mainz goal.
17'

FORSBERG DOES THE BUSINESS

The Swede steps up for the spot-kick and sends Zentner the wrong way, slotting his penalty to the right and applauding the home support in his celebration. The perfect start for Leipzig after Mainz had been a tough nut to crack in the opening quarter.

5'

QUAISON THE CHOSEN ONE FOR MAINZ?

Robin Quaison figures to be the 05ers' best chance of revenge today against Leipzig. The Sweden forward top-scored with 13 goals last term. Mainz are heading into their 12th consecutive season of Bundesliga football now and are looking to maintain their place this season and with four forwards selected today, they're not holding back in their search for a winning start this afternoon.

WATCH: NAGELSMANN'S TACTICS

We go inside the mind of Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann to reveal the secrets of his tactical revolution in the Bundesliga.

TIME FOR A NEW HERO

For the first time since their arrival in Bundesliga, Leipzig will have a top scorer this season not named Timo Werner. The Germany forward departed for Chelsea and the English Premier League this summer leaving his 28-goal campaign of last season. Hwang hee-Chan has been signed from Red Bull Salzburg to help re-strengthen Nagelsmann's attack, while Yussuf Poulsen is the man chosen to start in attack for the first game of the season.

LEIPZIG TEAM NEWS

It's always a risky business to figure out Julian Nagelsmann's line-ups for Leipzig. The master tactician almost certainly has further tricks up his sleeve today with the potential for USMNT star Tyler Adams to start at centre-back. He could also play in a more favoured right wing-back role, with a three-man defence behind him. Meanwhile, Marcel Sabitzer is only fit for the bench where he sits alongside Christopher Nkunku and summer signing Hwang hee-Chan, as well as Benjamin Henrichs and Lamar Samardzic.

MAINZ TEAM NEWS

Achim Beierlorzer's side are hoping to get a different result today than they got last season in Leipzig. No new faces are in the starting line-up, however, with Jean-Philippe Mateta leading the line supported by Jonathan Burkardt, Robin Quaison and Karim Onisiwo. On the bench are five potential debutants waiting for their chance, including former Paderborn centre-back Luca Killian.

LEIPZIG 8-0 MAINZ - 2019/20

A reminder of what went down the last time these two sides went head-to-head at the Red Bull Arena as Leipzig put eight goals past Mainz in the club's biggest ever Bundesliga win. One positive for Mainz is that Leipzig are now without Timo Werner - who had a hat-trick of goals and assists in the victory.

WHAT A WEEKEND SO FAR

We've seen 32 goals in just seven Bundesliga matches so far on the opening weekend of the season in what has been a barnstorming first Matchday of 2020/21. With two games to play, we're expecting even more goals and with good reason especially in our first match-up of the day between RB Leipzig and Mainz. There were 13 goals scored in the games between these two last season, all of them being scored by Leipzig.
