As a player, Daniel Thioune last faced Arminia in February 2004, when his Lübeck side surprisingly won 3-1 away at the Alm in Bundesliga 2 under Dieter Hecking. The current Fortuna boss came off the bench to score.

Arminia's last win against Düsseldorf was on 4 April 2017 in Bundesliga 2, when Fabian Klos scored the winning goal late on from the penalty spot with his team a man down.
