Luka Vušković named Bundesliga Player of the Season so far in 2025/26
With his steely determination and vital impact at both ends of the pitch, 18-year-old Luka Vušković has driven Hamburg to a solid return to the top flight and earned him the title of the Bundesliga's Player of the Season so far by fans voting on the official Bundesliga app!
There were 16 players on the initial shortlist for the Player of the 2025/26 Season so far, but Tottenham Hotspur loanee Vušković saw off leading scorer Harry Kane to take the crown in the final with 60 percent of the vote.
The teenager has been a defensive bulwark, winning a remarkable 70 percent of his challenges - and as many as 81 percent in the air - which in both regards are the best figures in the league.
The Croatian has also intercepted the second-most opposing passes of any Bundesliga player.
Vušković has certainly caught the eye in attack too. His goal against Heidenheim on Matchday 4 made him Hamburg's first Bundesliga goalscorer since 2018 and also the third youngest in club history.
His spectacular backheeled volley against Werder Bremen on Matchday 13 was then voted 2025 Bundesliga Goal of the Year.
Hamburg have every hope that Vušković can become a pillar of their survival bid as they resume the season in 13th, four points clear of the bottom three.
