Michael Gregoritsch wins 2025/26 Milka Fair Play of the Season award!
Augsburg striker Michael Gregoritsch is the winner of the 2025/26 Milka Fair Play of the Season award, with your votes helping him beat five other sportsmanlike acts from across German football's top two divisions to earn the accolade.
Gregoritsch displayed true sporting integrity during Augsburg's Matchday 28 Bundesliga clash with Hamburg. When the centre-forward appeared to have been felled by Fábio Vieira on the edge of the box, referee Deniz Aytekin awarded a free-kick in a very dangerous position.
However, Gregoritsch intervened, telling the official that there was no foul and that the free-kick should be rescinded. As a result, Aytekin changed his initial decision, with Vieira subsequently praising his opponent in his post-match interview.
Fan votes accounted for 40 percent of the overall total with 30 percent from clubs and a further 30 percent from experts, such as Bundesliga legends.
Watch: All six nominees for the 2025/26 award

The other nominees
Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund)
Borussia Dortmund were looking to threaten the Wolfsburg goal on Matchday 4 when Patrick Wimmer stumbled and fell to the ground injured. Adeyemi voluntarily played the ball out of play, thus halting the attack, before checking on the Wolves’ downed player.
As a result of a collision, Arminia Bielefeld’s Joel Grodowski fell to the ground unconscious. Schalke defender Katic immediately rushed to help Grodowski, placing the attacker in the recovery position and providing first aid prior to the arrival of medical staff.
Florian Kastenmeier (Fortuna Düsseldorf)
Dynamo Dresden goalkeeper Lennart Grill suffered a serious knee injury on Matchday 14 which required treatment. Düsseldorf counterpart Kastenmeier then ran the length of the pitch to comfort Grill while he received treatment.
RB Leipzig rush to opponent's aid
Mainz forward Benedict Hollerbach went down injured against Leipzig on Matchday 20. The opposition players immediately rushed to his aid: Willi Orbán waved the paramedics over, David Raum comforted Hollerbach and Yan Diomande helped with the stretcher.
Mainz players form guard of honour
Heidenheim needed a win on the final day of the season to have any chance of remaining in the top flight but after going 1-0 down early on, Phillip Tietz apologised instead of celebrating. After Heidenheim’s relegation was confirmed, the Mainz players formed a guard of honour for their opponents, applauding and offering them comfort.
