Daily Bonus

This provides a daily cash injection into your transfer budget, but only if you log into Fantasy Manager. The bonus will increase if you log in every day, meaning that checking the app daily really pays off!

The daily increase in bonus cash runs for a seven-day period, before starting over once that period has ended. Day one of the bonus period will get you 40K, while the reward on day seven is 110K!

For managers with less funds in their transfer kitty than they’d like, simply going into the app can get you closer to buying that player you’ve had your eye on, and increase your chances of climbing up those league tables.

Dynamic prices

That’s not the only way to increase your budget this season, as even your own squad can help you out.

Dynamic pricing means that a player's value changes according to their form. For example, Andréas Hountondji’s early season scoring streak will have seen him increase in value for those that took a punt on the St. Pauli striker (2.44M), while his consequent dip in form would’ve seen his price drop back toward his original value.

For those that did take a chance on Hountondji, had they decided to cash in on him after Matchday 3, they would’ve been rewarded with a bit of extra cash upon sale.

Similarly, those that put RB Leipzig’s free-scoring Christoph Baumgartner (12.12M) in their team early on will not only be reaping the benefits in terms of points, but also in terms of transfer budget should they eventually decide to swap him out - assuming he keeps performing.

Points

The emphasis isn’t all on the attacking players, though. New criteria has been added that also allows defensive players to rack up better points tallies.

Players can now gain points for winning ground and aerial duels, as well as intercepting crosses and corners and making successful passes into the middle and final third. While this will benefit defenders on the whole, it can also reduce the emphasis on picking more expensive defenders from the top end of the league.

For example, Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded 19 goals after 10 rounds of fixtures - the joint second-worst tally in the division. Nevertheless, Robin Koch (8.66M) sits within the top 10 for points scored by defenders due to his individual successes in duels and his contributions to build-up play.

Conversely, Jonathan Tah (5.89M), a central part of league leaders Bayern Munich’s defence, has collected far fewer points than his Germany international teammate.

Forwards

There are new ways for forwards to collect additional points as well. They will also be rewarded for duels won, and for the number of dribbles they successfully complete. This means forwards with an impressive all-round game, for example Harry Kane (28.45M), will naturally be handsomely rewarded, while those who work hard off the ball can also build impressive hauls.

Pauli’s Danel Sinani (8.71M) currently sits among the top five highest-point-scoring forwards in the game, above likes of in-form Fisnik Asllani (Hoffenheim, 10.26M) and Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy (18.3M) who both have five goals to their name after the 10-game mark. Despite having scored twice so far this season, Sinani sits ahead of the them in the rankings as a result of his aggressive dribbling and his willingness to jump into tackles.

This means that Fantasy Managers now have more factors to consider when choosing their frontline, and can still be rewarded for picking the cheaper, less prolific forwards.

Top performers

Bayer Leverkusen pair Alejandro Grimaldo (24.53M) and Edmond Tapsoba (12.17M) and Bayern’s attacking trident of Kane, Luis Díaz (22.8M) and Michael Olise (26.44M) make up the top five highest-scoring players for points so far. Grimaldo leads the charts, but there are some more unexpected names at the top end of the leaderboard, too.

Mainz’s Kaishu Sano is among the top 10 highest-scoring players in the game after 10 matchdays, despite his side sitting second from bottom in the table. Although not the cheapest player in the game (12.73M), he’s worth his weight in gold due to his taste for duels, from which he’s collected 1404 points so far.

Jakub Kamiński is also among the higher scoring players in the game, which has seen his price rise to 9.58M. As part of a newly promoted team that has seen plenty of new faces come through the door, the Poland international won’t have been the first name on most Fantasy teamsheets at the start of the season due to uncertainty over how Cologne would fare on their Bundesliga return. However, picking one or two players from promoted teams is always worth a go, as there’s bound to be a surprise package in one, or all of them. Hamburg’s Miro Muheim (10.19M) is further proof of that, as he’s collected 1975 points so far, largely as a result of his duel success rate.

Value picks and ones to watch

Dynamic pricing and its ability to increase your squad value, as well as the greater opportunity to collect more points through defensive actions, passing and dribbling mean that there are plenty of players on the market that could help your team.

Keeping your eye out for bargains has, therefore, never been more important, with an even wider variety of players able to get you points. Your star striker isn’t performing as you’d hoped? Why not try one from the smaller clubs who seems to have an eye for goal?!

With four goals in his last two games for a Borussia Mönchengladbach side that appear to have got their mojo back under Eugen Polanski, Haris Tabaković looks like a steal at just 6.43M, and he’ll face bottom side Heidenheim next on Matchday 11.

Watch: Have Gladbach turned a corner?

Also on the cheap side is Leipzig’s electric young winger Yan Diomande (6.8M), who has racked up over 300 points in each of his last three games.

Diamonde’s teammate, Assan Ouédraogo, was recently rewarded for his fine form with a first senior international call-up for Germany, and he could slot into your midfield for just 5.44M.

So, make the most of unlimited transfers before the action resumes!
