Konstantinos Karetsas surprises Borussia Dortmund fans at Gyros restaurant
Konstantinos Karetsas wasted little time meeting Borussia Dortmund supporters after completing his move to the club, surprising fans with an appearance at the Olympia-Grill in Kamen-Methler just hours after signing.
The 18-year-old midfielder, who has joined the Ruhr club from Belgian side Gent, spent around an hour signing autographs, posing for photos and chatting with supporters despite sweltering 34°C temperatures.
Karetsas first met 11-year-old Rafael and his family, who own the popular gyros restaurant, speaking with them in Greek before around 250 complimentary 'Taxiteller' – the Olympia-Grill's signature dish of gyros, currywurst and fries – were handed out to the assembled Black-and-Yellow faithful.
The Greece international later returned to Dortmund for further introductory meetings. He will soon begin training with Niko Kovač's squad following their return from the club's pre-season tour of Japan on Sunday.
