The Germany U20 international has already played over 50 times for Gladbach’s second team, averaging a clean sheet every one in five games.

The second French defender on this list, and if you’ve spent any time on FIFA22 already this year then you’ll have heard about Lacroix. The Wolfsburg man has already made a sizable splash in this year’s edition of the game with his 88 pace as a centre-back making him one of the go-to players online. He can also benefit your next Career Mode, too. With a potential of up to 86, you can be sure that terrifying pace and his equally solid defending and physical stats will also rise into the high 80s/early 90s. An affordable defence to build from over the coming years? Look no further than this Les Bleus pair.

Another defender showing his talents at the Red Bull Arena, Gvardiol has the highest potential of anyone in this team who can play at centre-back. The Croatia international is left-footed but has a four-star weak foot and is capable of playing in three different positions. His base card also already has 83 pace and 83 physicality, the perfect combination for FIFA22. And with a potential as high as his, Gvardiol is a must-have for your squad.

Bayern’s left-back is already one of the most sought-after players on FIFA22 with his improved 81 rating, including a monstrous 96 for pace - the highest for a defender on the game. The Canada international will be an expensive purchase if you do want to make it, but certainly worthwhile given his age and potential to reach around the 90 mark. Davies also has four-star skills and weak foot ratings, and can play in any position down the left. A player to build a team around, that’s for sure.

One of several 18-year-olds on this list, Wirtz will still cost your team a pretty penny on FIFA22. The senior Germany international has developed so rapidly and with so much success in the 18 months since making his Bundesliga debut that he’s already rated 78, despite his tender age. The attacking midfielder already has four-star skills and weak foot ratings, and solid dribbling and passing stats which – like his progress in the Bundesliga so far – will only keep going up. Prizing him from the BayArena will be difficult, but well worth your efforts with his potential set to soar up to 89 or more. Like several other players in this team, Wirtz is a player you can build your team around.

Since joining the club in the summer of 2019, Bellingham has already made over 60 appearances for Dortmund, despite only turning 18 in the summer of 2021. His rate of development has been beyond comparison, and that progression will only continue as he unlocks more of his remarkable potential. On FIFA22, that potential will see him reach close to a 90 rating. In this year’s Career Mode, players like Bellingham are must-haves, already being good enough to play a starring role in most teams while holding the potential to be one of the best players on the game.

Leipzig’s versatile attacking midfielder is another prized Career Mode jewel that calls the Bundesliga home. The Hungary international’s versatility in the game is matched by his wide-ranging high attributes, with his passing, dribbling, shooting and pace all either rated 78 or 79 on his base card. Building a Bundesliga-based midfield looks like a sure-fire way to push your team to glory on FIFA22 with one talent after the other coming in these attack-minded positions. The next in line is Bayern Munich’s prized teen, Musiala, who himself has become a full international with Germany and first-team regular with the record Bundesliga champions, despite barely being able to drive. Musiala is the lowest rated of this Bundesliga bunch, but his potential is just as high as the rest. He also already possesses 84 dribbling, making him a shoo-in for a first-team spot no matter who you’re in charge of.

The next gem coming from the Signal Iduna Park is Reyna. One of the stars of the future for the USMNT and BVB, the England-born American is alongside Bellingham, Wirtz, Szoboszlai and Musiala in having the highest potential among Bundesliga midfielders. Like Musiala, Reyna’s best attribute is also his dribbling, coming in at 82 on his base card – and he also holds four-star skills. The hardest part of building this midfield will be being able to afford them all, or choosing which ones you want ahead of the rest.

Only four strikers are rated higher than Haaland’s base card on FIFA22, with his unstoppable goalscoring talents being recognised with an 88 rating. His potential will see him rise to well over 90, which is why he’s another must-have in your Career Mode, regardless of the price. At his age, it’s hard to see a player who would be better to lead you to glory for years to come. He’s 6’4” and already has 88 physicality, 89 pace and 91 shooting – all of which will only continue to rise. Haaland is the best of the bunch on this list, but you may well have to save up if you want to get him in your team.
