Bayern Munich future-proofing with Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich and many more!
Bayern Munich have enjoyed a good season so far on the pitch - and off it too. By committing the likes of Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies to the club on new long-term contracts, they hope to have cemented the pillars of future success in place, while also providing the space for exciting young talents to emerge.
The grins said it all - a beaming Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, board member for sport Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund posing with an overjoyed Musiala as the 21-year-old star signed a contract committing him to the club until 2030.
"Players like him allow us to send out a clear message to everyone that Bayern are to be reckoned with in the future," said Eberl.
Ominous words indeed for Bayern's rivals. And it is by no means a one-off; far more, it follows a pattern of contract extensions and signings aimed at setting the club up for the immediate and long-term future.
The deal with Musiala was announced just days after Alphonso Davies, another key performer, also extended his Bayern papers until 2030. Those five-year terms match the length of the deal offered to 2024 summer signing Michael Olise, who arrived on a contract running until 2029.
The faith placed in Olise immediately started paying dividends. With eight goals and seven assists in his first 25 Bundesliga appearances, the 23-year-old France international has added a potent extra dimension to Bayern's attacking play on their march back to the Bundesliga summit.

The news of Davies' fresh terms arrived a matter of days after a similar announcement for club captain Manuel Neuer, who penned a one-year extension. At 38, he may not form part of any long-term plans, but his potential successor is already on the books.
In April 2024, Alexander Nübel agreed a new contract at the club until 2029, but will stay on loan at VfB Stuttgart until the end of the 2025/26 season. And then there is 21-year-old goalkeeping talent Jonas Urbig, who joined from Cologne in January and is set to be groomed by grandmaster Neuer himself with a view to taking over one day.

The 32-time Bundesliga champions made a similar investment in youthful promise in January, when confirming the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Tom Bischof on a free transfer from Hoffenheim for July 2025. The highly rated prospect is set to provide a great additional option to the question of who should partner Joshua Kimmich in central midfield.
One man at the top of that particular list is 20-year-old academy product Aleksandar Pavlović, who has become a mainstay in the Bayern squad since gaining his first minutes in midfield last season and immediately impressing.
A series of niggling injuries have halted his progress somewhat, but early in the 2024/25 campaign he was so performing so consistently well that he kept senior internationals and fellow central midfielders Leon Goretzka and João Palhinha out of the starting XI. One midfielder that is near impossible to dislodge from the starting line-up is the ever-dependable Joshua Kimmich, who committed his future to Bayern to 2029 in another key contract extension in March.

As if those deals for Kimmich, Musiala, Davies, Olise, Bishof, Urbig, Nübel and Pavlović were not enough, there are several more youngsters waiting in the wings to join them.
Twenty-one-year-old left-back Frans Krätzig and 18-year-old midfielder Paul Wanner are two other Bayern Campus graduates currently taking the loan route. With both currently lacing their boots for Heidenheim, the idea is that by picking up playing time and Bundesliga experience, they will develop enough to challenge for first-team places when they return to the Allianz Arena.

And while we may soon have to bid farewell to the likes of Neuer and fellow veteran Thomas Müller, Bayern have already made moves to stack the odds in their favour and seem well poised to live up to their immense history in the coming years.
