Bayern Munich's Michael Olise plays with locals in New York City park
Bayern Munich star Michael Olise swapped the Allianz Arena and FIFA World Cup stage for an impromptu kickabout at a New York City park this week.
Olise has gone from strength to strength since signing for Bayern in July 2024, winning the Bundesliga's 2025/26 Player of the Season award before further enhancing his reputation with a starring role for France at World Cup 2026.
Despite his growing profile, the 24-year-old joined a casual game with local players before posing for photos afterwards, creating a memorable experience for all involved.
Olise is fresh from breaking the all-time assists record at a single World Cup, registering seven to surpass Pelé's long-standing mark of six, set in 1970, to help France secure a fourth-placed finish.
The former Reading and Crystal Palace winger also topped the 2025/26 Bundesliga assists chart (19) as Bayern successfully defended their league title before lifting the DFB Cup for the first time since 2020.

Following an extended break, Olise will link up with his Bayern teammates to continue the club's preparations for the new campaign. The record champions begin the 2026/27 season against Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup on 22 August.
The Frenchman has recorded 42 goals and 54 assists in his first 107 competitive appearances for Bayern, where he is under contract until 30 June 2029.
