Full time: Bremen 3-1 Leipzig

What an afternoon for Bremen, who bounce back from last weekend’s heavy defeat at Freiburg in spectacular fashion. The scoreline doesn’t flatter Werder, who created the better opportunities in the second half in particular.

What a day this is turning out to be for Bremen. Grüll surely puts the seal on a memorable Werder victory with a low drive into the corner from the edge of the area, after Leipzig had failed to clear a cross into the box.

Pattern set

So, how do Leipzig respond to Dinkçi's 15th Bundesliga goal? Demichelis' charges continue to dominate possession, but Bremen - determined to preserve their early advantage - have set up camp deep inside their own half.

What a start!

They hadn't seen much of the ball in the opening three or four minutes, but the hosts have an early lead! It's a lovely move, with Füllkrug threading a ball through to Chuki, who feeds Dinkçi. The Bremen native makes no mistake with his finish, slotting the ball past the onrushing keeper from close range.

Martín Demichelis on facing Bremen

"The games I played in Bremen during my career were never easy. Werder's defeat [at Freiburg] last weekend doesn't mean anything - this is a different game. We'll try to play our football and come away with three points. Like last weekend, we want to take control of the game from the very start."
