Stuttgart warm up

They have been the surprises of the Bundesliga season so far, but can Stuttgart shock an injury and illness depleted Bayern on their own patch?
camera-photo

More on that Bayern team

Bundesliga top scorer Harry Kane (pictured) has recovered from a cold in time to play. Illness has however ruled Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich out of the encounter. Thomas Müller comes in as one of five changes to the side beaten 1-5 at Frankfurt last weekend, while the injury and illness crisis means only six players are named on the bench - one of whom is 18-year-old defensive midfielder Noel Aseko Nkili, who makes a matchday squad for the first time.
camera-photo

More on that Stuttgart team

Unsurprisingly the visitors stick with the same XI that impressed greatly at home to Leverkusen last weekend (drawing 1-1). That means strike sensations Serhou Guirassy and Deniz Undav (pictured) are to lead the line together again.

Hoeneß's view on Bayern

"The game is of great importance for us all, obviously also for me. The process and analysis are the same. It's a top-of-the-table clash, even if it's just a snapshot. It's a nice state of play for us. Bayern have an absolutely top team with great individual quality, the absolute highest quality. We need to have solutions for the different phases of the game. That includes some that maybe aren't quite so bold against other opponents. We need to be brave, back ourselves and be ready to suffer. Then we have a chance. We've shown with the results against Dortmund and Leverkusen that we're capable of performing against top teams."
camera-photo

Tuchel's view on Stuttgart

"They've very consistent. Together they're greater than the sum of their parts. They deserve to be up where they are. They're very homogenous, tactically very flexible. It's impressive how Stuttgart play. You can see Sebastian's [Hoeneß] mark on the team. I think Stuttgart have had a consistent overperformance, so there must be good unity between the team and the coach. It's completely deserved, so we'll give everything our greatest respect and recognise that."
