FULL-TIME: FRANKFURT 2-1 UNION

Frankfurt record their first home win of the Bundesliga season under Oliver Glasner. It looked like they were going to pay for a profligate first-half showing, until Kostic found N'Dicka for a dramatic winner. Union just didn't get to grips with the left-wing threat posed by Eintracht's creator-in-chief - and miss the chance to go third.

N'DICKA SCORES!!!!

Frankfurt surely with the winning goal! Kostic asks the question with an in-swinging cross. N'Dicka rises highest, and powers in the header. You have to say, Frankfurt deserve it!

RYERSON!

Luthe is booked after taking for too long over a goal-kick. The ball eventually finds Ryerson, via Becker, but his dipping effort is straight at Trapp. Becker also goes into the book for timewasting soon after.

OVER!

Ache gets in behind the Union defence and swings over a cross. Paciencia connects first time, going to ground in the process, but that's neither a goal nor a penalty.

TIME ADDED ON

We're into the first of five additional minutes. Ample time for either side to force a winner...

GIEßELMANN ON

Three goals and three assists from Gießelmann so far this season. It was a surprise not to see him start at left-back - can he land the knockout blow?

PENALTY SHOUT

Frankfurt want a penalty as Paciencia tangles with Friedrich in the six-yard box, but the referee is unmoved. VAR confirms the Eintracht sub was more the aggressor.

VOGLSAMMER!

Oczipka drives into the box, with the ball breaking for Voglsammer. He's off balance as he swipes goalwards, but still manages to force Trapp into a diving save to his left. Eintracht showing their fatigue after investing so much in the first half...
77'

ACHE ON

Glasner responds with a change of his own. Lindstrom, who's really found his feet in recent weeks, makes way for a centre-forward in Ragnar Ache.
76'

FISCHER ROLLS THE DICE

The Union tactician switches things up in attack as leading marksman Awoniyi and goalscorer Kruse make way. Voglsammer has scored once in 12 league games this season, while Öztunali can always do damage running in behind.
71'

PACIENCIA PRESENCE

Paciencia's involved immediately. Standing 10 centimetres taller than Borre, he almost gets on the end of a Kostic cross, with Luthe coming out to punch clear. Jakic returns it with interest, but it's just got too much on it for Paciencia on the stretch. A diving Luthe bats the bouncing ball away.
69'

PACIENCIA ON

Borre's visibly disappointed as he gets the hook. The Colombian had chances to add to his two Bundesliga goals, but didn't take them. Paciencia is on, having rescued Eintracht a point with a goal from the bench in European action in midweek.
65'

KAMADA CHANCE!

Baumgartl miscues his clearance in the box. Kamada pounces and strikes for goal, but the Unon defender makes a decisive recovery block.
62'

UNION EQUALISE!

Frankfurt pay the price for those missed chances as Kruse sends Trapp the wrong way from the spot to bring Union level.

DOUBLE CHANGE

Urs Fischer's seen enough. Julian Ryerson's on, in a move that may see Union switch to a four-man defence. The Unon coach will also be hoping Becker can give the Frankfurt defence something to do.

A PRETTY ONE-SIDED AFFAIR

It's not as open as the first half, but Frankfurt are still looking the most likely in the final third.

A WHISKER AWAY!

Normal services resumes as Kostic goes on the rampage, profitting from Khedira's misplaced pass inm midfield. It's another belter of a cross, but Lindstrom can't apply the finshing touch from close range. When will Union learn?

HALF-TIME: FRANKFURT 1-0 UNION

Union will count themselves very lucky only to be 1-0 down at the break. Frankfurt have been dominant, but only have Sow's stunning strike to show for it.
Half-time
45'

KRUSE!

Much better from Union. Twice now Trimmel has got in behind Kostic. He picks out Kruse on the edge of the box, with the Union talisman controlling on his chest and firing over via a deflection. The corner doesn't deliver, though.
42'

OVER FROM BORRE!

Union cannot live with Kostic. He has time and space to pick out a trademark cross that bounces up in front of Borre in the six-yard box, making it a touch awkward for the Frankfurt forward, who can only poke over the crossbar.
39'

CAUTION

Kostic appears to have nothing on as he plays an audacious chipped pass towards Jakic with the outside of his left foot. No one in a Union shirt sees it coming, least of all Prömel, who's penalised for pulling the Frankfurt midfielder to ground.
37'

SIDE NETTING!

Frankfurt have a three-on-one break as Kostic drives forward and exchanges passes with Borre. He gets the ball back on his favoured left foot, but his touch isn't the best on this occasion, and his eventual shot from the angle of the six-yard box is into the side netting. A first-time finish might have been the more sensible option.
35'

BAUMGARTL TO THE RESCUE

Jakic splits the Union defence with a wonderfully weighted low pass from inside the Frankfurt half. Lindstrom's onto it, but Baumgartl times his sliding challenge to perfection, touching the ball off the Frankfurt midfielder and behind for a goal-kick.
31'

JAKIC!

So close to a second Frankfurt goal. Kostic is the architect with an inch-perfect corner. Jakic meets it with a powerful diving header that goes just wide, with Luthe beaten all ends up.

OFF THE BAR!

Frankfurt come again with Kostic. He threads a pass in to Kamada, who grazes the top of the crossbar. Union just can't catch a break.
22'

SOW'S THAT FOR A GOAL?!

Frankfurt take the lead in style. Kostic wins a corner that Lindstrom plays short to the Serbian winger. His cross is cleared to Djibril Sow, who steers an unstoppable first-time strike beyond Luthe from the edge of the area. Great tekkers, and what a way to bring up a first Bundesliga goal since February 2019!

TAI-NO!

Awoniyi has the ball at his feet on the edge of the six-yard area, but Hasebe is able to clear before he can get a shot away. Really open game, this one.

DISALLOWED GOAL

Chandler wrestles back possession and plays in Borre. He lashes home from inside the area on his left foot, but had just strayed offside and it won't count.
5'

AWONIYI ON THE PROWL

Union's record Bundesliga scorer Awoniyi threatens to get on the end of a ball into the box, but N'Dicka does just enough to fend off the threat and Trapp can gather.
3'

LINDSTROM SKILLS

Brilliant from Lindstrom down by the by-line. He lifts the ball over the head of Baumgartl and cuts a cute pass back for Borre, who completely misses his kick. Let-off for Union.

UNDER WAY!

The ball's rolling in Frankfurt, who are all in black. Union are head to toe in red.

THE STANDINGS

Frankfurt start the day down in 13th place, and without a home win in this season's Bundesliga. They've taken just four points from 15 on offer at the Commerzbank-Arena, compared to 11 from 21 on their travels (the fourth best away tally league-wide). Despite only winning once on the road, meanwhile, Union can go third with victory in Germany's financial capital.

WATCH: FREIBURG 0-2 FRANKFURT

Filip Kostic and Jesper Lindstrom fired Frankfurt to an impressive win at third-placed Freiburg last time out.

MORE ON THOSE TEAMS

Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner sticks with the same starting line-up that won in Freiburg in the Bundesliga last weekend, and drew with Antwerp in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday. That means US international Timothy Chandler continues on the right-hand side, ahead of Erik Durm, who appears to have fallen out of favour. Centre-back Martin Hinteregger is back in the squad following a knock, and joins the likes of Jens-Petter Hauge, Sebastian Rode and Goncalo Paciencia - who scored an injury-time equaliser in midweek - on the bench. Union were also in action on Thursday, winning 1-0 at Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Urs Fischer rang the changes for that one, but recalls his big guns here. The only exception is Bastian Oczipka, who is preferred to Niko Gießelmann at left-wing-back. Sorry, Fantasy Managers.
