CLOSE AGAIN!

Gerhardt flicks a header towards goal from Brekalo's corner, but Finnbogason is well placed to head it over his own crossbar from just in front of the Augsburg goal.

ADDED TIME

We'll have five minutes of added time at the end of this one.
86'

BROOKS BLOCKED!

A free-kick swings into the Augsburg penalty area from Arnold and drops down for Brooks to shoot at goal. He does, but an Augsburg body is in the way to block the ball.
83'

FINNBOGASON FORCES A SAVE!

Finally Augsburg have a shot on target and it comes from great work by the substitutes. Jensen breaks away in the middle and finds Finnbogason to his left. He beautifully cuts past Brooks onto his left into the Wolfsburg box and shoots low across goal, but Casteels gets his left foot to it.
79'

GERHARDT WITH A CHANCE!

Framberger wins the ball back off Wolfsburg in his own penalty area but plays a poor pass into the middle intended for a centre-back. Gerhardt is onto it and hits a first-time shot at goal, but drags his effort wide. Wolfsburg can't keep letting chances go if they want to take all three points here.

INTO THE FINAL 15...

We're still looking for a winner here as we enter the business end of this game. Wolfsburg looking the most likely to get it still.
72'

BAKU DEBUT

The new signing from Mainz is on for Roussillon to make his debut alongside Ginczek coming on for Mehmedi, and Augsburg swapping Khedira for Strobl.
70'

GIKIEWICZ IN THE WAY

The only thing standing between Wolfsburg and a lead at this stage has been Augsburg goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz. The home side have had eight attempts off target to go with their five on target.

Weghorst lays the ball off to his Croatian teammate and he smashes a low shot at goal. Gikiewicz is down well to make a solid save though.

TRIPLE CHANGE

The Augsburg attack has been totally changed in one moment by the away side with Finnbogason, Jensen and Vargas on in place of Niederlechner, Gregoritsch and Hahn. Fresh legs and ideas going forward now.
56'

WOLFSBURG ON TOP

The home side have continued their bright start to this second half in the first 10 minutes since the restart. Augsburg struggling to get on the ball.
53'

MEHMEDI HAS TO SCORE!

What a chance as Roussillon works space for a cut back from the right into the penalty area. He does so well to spot Mehmedi in space and find him, and the attacking midfielder's first-time shot from eight yards out is heading for goal, but Gikiewicz pulls off a superb reflex save.
48'

ROUSSILLON INVOLVED EARLY

Wolfsburg's makeshift right-back didn't see too much of the ball in the first half, with most of their attacking movement going down the left. He's involved here though to win a corner early on, showing his capabilities with a right-footed cross from the wing.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY!

The second half begins without a change to either side and with both looking to break the deadlock.

ADDED TIME

ARNOLD NOT FAR OFF

The Wolfsburg midfielder hits a free-kick low at goal from all of 40 yards out. The ball bounces just wide of the Augsburg goal with Gikiewicz watching closely.
42'

EVEN CONTEST

It's been such an entertaining first half even without the deadlock being broken, merely because of the intense battle we're seeing between these sides. Wolfsburg ending the half on top.

ENDING THIS HALF WELL

The home side enjoying more possession now as we approach the break, but no major chances to speak of since that ruled out Brekalo goal.

SCHLAGER WITH A CHANCE!

The next good opportunity for the home side once again comes from the left. Arnold is in behind the Augsburg defence and cuts the ball back into the box. Schlager is there, but again the pass is behind the man in front of goal, and his attempt is on target but is simple for Gikiewicz and his defence to clear.
24'

ONLY ONE ISSUE SO FAR

The only thing Augsburg will not be pleased with so far is that they have yet to for a save from Casteels. Six attempts on goal overall, but none on target.
22'

AUGSBURG NOT AFRAID

The away side showing more and more confidence coming forward as Niederlechner rounds Casteels and attempts a shot at goal from a tight angle having been forced wide by the Wolfsburg No.1. He can't get a shot on target, and there are no Augsburg players in the right place to poke it home.
16'

TEASING CROSS

Otavio is having some joy down the left and once again sends a teasing cross into the box. It's between Uduokhai and Gikiewicz, and the former Wolfsburg centre-back makes a sliding clearance in the end.

FUN BATTLE, THIS ONE!

11'

GREGORITSCH!

The first real opening for Augsburg on goal as Iago breaks down the left. He plays the ball inside to Gregoritsch, who beats Brooks into the six-yard box and fires a shot at goal. But he hits it as he's falling to his left, and the ball duly slices off the outside of his foot and into the side-netting.

AUGSBURG PRESSNIG

One trait of this Augsburg team which has dramatically improved is their ability to win the ball back quickly after losing possession. The pressing after losing the ball is incredibly intense, and Wolfsburg are struggling to match it here so far.
7'

HUGE CHANCE FOR WEGHORST!

Otavio is played down the left and sends a quick low cross into the box. Weghorst times his run to perfection and meets the ball, which is slightly behind him, with a left-footed shot at goal. It's straight at Gikiewicz though and he parries away. A great chance for the Dutchman to get his first goal of the season.
5'

INTERPLAY ON POINT

Augsburg wasting no time showing what they're capable of as a team here with some lovely passing play taking them up the pitch to win the first corner of the game. Caligiuri working well down the left flank so far.
2'

QUICK START

Both sides finding space to work with going forward, and both having chances to get the ball in the opposition penalty area here in the early stages.

AWAY WE GO!

The ball is rolling in Wolfsburg as the away side gets things underway.

ALMOST TIME FOR ACTION

The first of our Sunday double header is fast approaching with just a few minutes until kick-off in Wolfsburg. Two draws out of two so far for the Wolves and two wins out of two for Augsburg. Who's going to take the points today?

WEGHORST OUT FOR MORE

Weghorst bagged a hat-trick as Wolfsburg recorded their biggest-ever Bundesliga win by beating Augsburg 8-1 on the final day of the 2018/19 season. That result saw the Wolves score three more goals than in all of their other eight Bundesliga home games against Augsburg combined, of which they won just one.

WOLVES' DAY TODAY, FINALLY?

Wolfsburg are without a win in six Bundesliga home games, which is their longest such run since going eight in 2017/18.

WATCH: AUGSBURG'S DREAM START

NO HEIKO HERRLICH TODAY

If Augsburg are to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign today, they'll have to do it without head coach Heiko Herrlich on the sidelines. Herrlich suffered a punctured lung in the week and is recovering in hospital. Assistant coach Iraklis Metaxas is in charge today, with Herrlich providing instructions from afar.

WOLFSBURG TEAM NEWS

The hosts today come into this one on the back of a disappointing midweek which saw them eliminated from the UEFA Europa League in the play-off round against AEK Athens. Oliver Glasner is also dealing with something of an injury crisis, with both right-backs Kevin Mbabu and William out injured. Ridle Baku has joined from Mainz but arrived to late for Glasner to give him the nod and so Jerome Roussillon, who played at right-back on Thursday, continues on the right side of defence.

AUGSBURG TEAM NEWS

The away side, and the only side with a 100 percent winning record alive in the Bundesliga, are unchanged for their trip to Wolfsburg today. Ruben Vargas is back on the bench having missed the win over Borussia Dortmund last weekend but the starting XI remains the same.
