The visitors put Leipzig under real pressure at the start of the second half, but it was the hosts who managed to find the back of the net first. Ouédraogo's blistering strike from distance put a stop to Bremen's attacking threat, which they struggled to regain after the goal. Werder brought on fresh legs and looked like they had found a second wind, only for Schlager to convert from a corner that Bremen failed to clear. Overall, Leipzig are deserved winners, although the visitors will feel hard done by after a much improved second half.
