Despite taking the lead against the run of play early on, Bremen failed to get going in the first-half which was characterised by poor passing and a lack of energy. Hoffenheim on the other hand, lead deservedly through two brilliant finishes from Stach and Bischof. The early goal didn't seem to affect them and they were the better side throughout the half.

"Bremen generate a lot of energy at home. They've had a lot of good spells, but recently it's been a bit more difficult. But now important players are fit again or no longer suspended. Bremen play very straightforward football and can be dangerous both in the centre and on the wings. We need a lot of activity on our end. We must not lose faith in ourselves, even if we're going through a tough patch."

"I think it's important against Hoffenheim, who are a team that defends with a high level of intensity and who always make things happen when they have the space, to play cleanly under pressure and to have threaten opponent's backline.
