Eeking out home victories

Since the winter break, Freiburg have won all four of their matches in all competitions at the Europa-Park Stadion, seeing off Hamburg, Cologne and Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, as well as Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the UEFA Europa League, all by a one-goal margin.

Fortune on the road

Despite the recent defeat in Frankfurt, Gladbach’s away record is very respectable. They have won more matches on the road (three) than at home (two) this season. The Foals occupy eighth place in the away form table but only 16th in the home standings. This is due in large part to their defensive solidity away, having conceded just 16 goals on their travels (the fifth fewest), compared to 21 at home (the third most).
