Both sides hit the woodwork in the second half, but it was García who secured all three points when his first-time volleyed effort from the edge of the box nestled in the bottom corner. A dominant performance from Leverkusen.

"We know it's a very tough task and that Leverkusen are a bit further ahead in their development than us. We want to show from the start that we're up to the challenge. Leverkusen have always been a team that play very tidy football. Xabi Alonso has made sure that they also have a top mentality now. We'll need a perfect 90 minutes to take something home."

"We're up against a top opponent with a good coach, high individual quality an collective quality. The reverse fixture was very intense. It'll be another hard game. We need to be flexible and shift quickly so we have the right means for the various phases of the game."
