Eintracht extend lead

Amazing scenes. Eintracht go further in front as Hoffenheim shoot themselves in the foot. Some slack home play sees the visitors snatch possession and after some very tidy build up, the ball breaks to Ellyes Skhiri who prods high into the net from the right.

Toppmöller's view on Hoffenheim

“At the end of the day, it’s two teams facing off who like to have the ball, who know what to do with the ball. With Hoffenheim, there are clear moves in their 3-5-2. A very good team with a coach who has a clear idea, who has good ideas in attacking play, who also has a good idea in defensive play for what they want to do. It'll definitely be an interesting game. Two teams who want to get forward. We just have to make sure we perform better on the day.”

Matarazzo's view on Frankfurt

“They’ve conceded the fewest goals in the division because they’re compact in their defending, because they have a good back three that can really clean up dangerous situations. It’s a good defence with a good goalkeeper as well. They’re playing with a lot more calm and control in their game, have a lot of possession as they try to score. There’s also lots of movement and variety, especially in midfield. That’s their strength, even if it’s not borne out in goals. They still manage to control the opponent with phases of possession.”

Joint message for peace

The DFL has recommended a minute's silence in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 to remember all innocent victims and their relatives after the devastating events in the Middle East. With this joint effort, the DFL and DFB would like to send a common message from German football for peace. Football is a sport that brings people together, which is why we all stand up for peaceful coexistence, respect and tolerance. A fortnight ago, the terrorist attack by Hamas on the people of Israel and the State of Israel began. The DFL is shocked by this terrible attack and the events in the region.

Beier on fire

20-year-old Maximilian Beier has enjoyed a breakout start to the campaign, scoring five goals across Hoffenheim's opening seven Bundesliga games - only Vedad Ibišević, Anthony Modeste and Andrej Kramarić have managed to be as prolific for Die Kraichgauer at this point of a season.
