UNION WIN AGAIN
It's all over! Union Berlin notch up their sixth win of the season - more than any other team in the Bundesliga - to move two points clear at the top of the table. Paul Jaeckel's second-half header will lead to a long night of partying in Köpenick tonight!
Pantovic batters a shot at goal from the right and Müller is there again with the save.
We'll have four minutes of time added on.
Pantovic could have wrapped things up for Union there but the Union sub's shot from close range was saved, one handed, by Müller.
UNION ALMOST THERE
As things stand, Union are going two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga standings.
VfB'S UNWANTED RECORD
Stuttgart conceding in a 26th consecutive home game in the Bundesliga means they have equalled RW Essen's record set between 1970 and 1974.
GUIRASSY ORDERED OFF
More bad news for Stuttgart. Guirassy stamps down on Thorsby's foot and that's an ugly one. The referee flashes a second yellow card at the VfB No. 9, who goes off without any complaints.
TOMAS OFF TARGET
Tiago Tomas thumps an effort into the side-netting from the right. If VfB are going down in this game, they're going down fighting.
STUTTGART HIT A POST
The mother of goalmouth scrambles and it seems as though Stuttgart must score. They're lining up to score. Mavropanos has a swipe and the ball rolls against the post.
Union have done it ! A corner from the right is whipped right into the mixer and Paul Jaeckel is there, bending slightly before angling a header into the corner of the net !
LEWELING COMES ON
Meanwhile the visitors give Jamie Leweling a third game in the top flight. The 21-year-old replaces Sheraldo Becker who, along with strike partner Jordan, has had a very quiet night.
ITO AND OUT
Hiroki Ito has put in a shift here and is rewarded with a rest. Pascal Stenzel comes on to make his sixth Bundesliga appearance of the campaign.
STUTTGART SWITCH IT UP
Pellegrino Matarazzo brings cross specialist Borna Sosa into the action to replace new man Zagadou. Chris Führich has also been thrown into the Stuttgart mix.
Gießelmann goes in hard on Endo and sees a yellow card as punishment.
Urs Fischer makes a double change with Jordan and Schäfer making way for Thorsby and Behrens. USMNT forward Jordan will be disappointed not to have at least had a crack at goal in this game.
MAVROPANOS OFF TARGET
Tiago Tomas's corner is hooked over the bar by Konstantinos Mavropanos.
KARAZOR SEES YELLOW
Karazor is booked for bringing down Haraguchi. The Stuttgart man will miss his team's next game against Bochum having accumulated five yellows.
RÖNNOW DENIES VFB
What a chance Wataru Endo ! The Stuttgart captain heads straight into the arms of Frederik Rönnow when connecting with a cross from the left. Rönnow is in action again shortly afterwards to get to the ball before the onrushing Silas.
RYERSON HAS A GO
Ryerson has a dig at goal but his shot sails over the top.
Anton pulls back Haraguchi, who was in full flight. The referee issues a stern warning to the Stuttgart man, who'll need to be careful from here.
AWAY WE GO AGAIN
Stuttgart kick off the second half. The home fans are in full voice once again as their side go in search of a first win of the season. Union, meanwhile, have a place at the top of the table in mind.
No goals but plenty of entertainment in this game. Impossible to predict which team, if any, will emerge from the Mercedes-Benz Arena with the three points at the end of this game. Stay with us for second-half updates.
The busy Gießelmann has a look at a looping ball arriving at speed and winds up for an overhead kick, which he connects with, but which flies wide of the upright.
Niko Gießelmann fires in a free kick and Paul Jaeckel connects with a bullet of a header which Müller saves two-handed down to his right.
GUIRASSY ON THE MOVE
Guirassy bundles into the area and gets past two defenders before somehow escaping the attentions of a third. The Stuttgart No.9 ends up running our of pitch and Union have a goal kick.
Union's Niko Gießelmann is now off receiving treatment to a troublesome knock to his right knee.
ANTON IN PAIN
A hold up in play while Waldemar Anton - who took a nasty knock to the head - gets bandaged up.
Now THAT was another big chance for the hosts. Tiago Tomas's tasty cross from the right is met by Serhou Guirassy's flicked header. The ball leaves Rönnow rooted as it flies towards the far post .... and inches wide.
Oooh there's another chance for the hosts. Tiago Tomas angles in towards goal and hits an outside of the boot pass that just evades Silas.
Ito's free kick from distance fizzes all the way through on goal. Rönnow gets down to make an important stop for the visitors.
The only two shots on goal in this game so far have come from defenders: Dan-Axel Zagadou and Robin Knoche.
Silas thunders down the flank and this looks very threatening for the home side, until Jaeckel slides across and makes the most perfectly-timed of sliding tackles to deny the VfB attacker.
AMAZING STOP !
Tiago Tomas goes down spinning after being caught by Jaeckel and Stuttgart have a free kick out wide. The ball is whipped across to the far post where Zagadou connects with some part of his back/shoulder. This looks in until Rönnow dives across and claws the ball out. Superb save.
Free kick in an interesting position for Stuttgart after Mavropanos is upended. Ito's set-piece is lost in a huddle of players and Union clear.
VfB HAVE A GO
Stuttgart put something together now. Silas crosses low into the mixer and Jaeckel hacks clear with several white shirts awaiting.
EARLY UNION STRENGTH
Confident start by the visitors. Ryerson's cross is fisted out by Müller. Knoche eyes the loose ball and tries an acrobatic finish which flies over.
Becker is already making a menace of himself inside the Stuttgart area. The hosts will have their hands full with the visiting striker this evening.
GAME ON !
Union kick off and Matchday 9's final game is underway! Let's hope for one more belter on this Super Sunday.
TEAMS OUT !
Handshakes all around and we're all set for the big kick off in Stuttgart!
Rani Khedira will lead Union out for the fourth games this campaign. All of those have actually been away from home, but this is hardly foreign territory for the Stuttgart native.
WATCH: STUTTGART IN THE HOUSE!
UNION TEAM NEWS
Urs Fischer opts for three changes after his side won 1-0 with 10 men at Malmo in Europa League on Thursday. Genki Haraguchi, Niko Gießelmann and Paul Jaeckel replace Christopher Trimmel, Diogo Leite and the absent Janik Haberer.
STUTTGART TEAM NEWS
VfB boss Pellegrino Matarazzo makes two changes from the 3-2 loss at Wolfsburg as Tiago Tomas and Dan-Axel Zagadou come in for Chris Führich and Pascal Stenzel. We're still saying this is a back three, with Hiroki Ito shifting to wing-back as he's done before, but it could also easily be a back four of Mavropanos, Anton, Zagadou and Ito. We'll have to see what the American coach has planned...
