Michel has the ball in the net at the death but Union's second is ruled out for offside. The referee then blows the final whistle and the visitors drop to their knees having battled to a big win at Borussia-Park. Urs Fischer's side are back up to third and just four points behind second-placed Bayern Munich.
Omlin makes an odd decision to come miles from his goal and he's soon back-peddling when Thorsby gets into possession. The subsequent shot has no power and the Foals survive.
We'll have four minutes added to the end of this one.
Thuram looks to be carrying a knock and is heading off to be replaced by Marvin Friedrich. Meanwhile, Roussillon - who has put in a shift here - is heading to the sidelines with Christopher Trimmel ready to come on.
Ooooh, Thuram gets up to send a header towards the top corner. It's one of those ones that looks like it's going all the way in, until the keeper plucks it out of the sky.
Visitors mix it up
Union take the pace out of the game with a double swap. Becker and Haberer stroll off with Sven Michel and Milos Pantovic coming on.
Foals getting closer
Thuram sends a looping header onto the roof of the net.
Haberer over the top
Becker tees up Haberer, who wellies one over the bar from downtown.
Not Thuram's day
The France forward fires harmlessly wide and it's been one of those days for the Gladbach man.
Visitors on the up
Changes all over
Lainer, Netz, Plea and Ngoumou are on for Glabach. Thorsby and Jordan are into the action for Union.
Becker leads the way
Becker now has a team-leading nine goals for this Bundesliga campaign to date. He's scored three times away from home.
Union in solid position
The visitors have not lost in their last 55 Bundesliga games after taking a lead (39 wins, 16 draws).
Wonderful goal from the visitors! Roussillon bides his time before dinking a super pass over the Gladbach defence. Becker is watching it all the way and lets the ball drop before connecting with a volley that leaves Omlin with no chance.
Urs Fischer's side are looking the likelier goalscorers as the half progresses.
Union edging closer?
The ball break for Behrens who snatches at a header that flashes just wide of the upright. The visitors have suddenly upped their game.
Roussillon's big miss
Behrens' header finds Haberer, who nods on for Jerome Roussillon. The 30-year-old volleys high over the bar. That was a decent chance for the visitors.
Khedira upends Thuram on the edge of the area and Hofmann has a chance to put one into the mixer. Frederik Rönnow comes out to claim.
We are go in the second half at Borussia-Park.
Scoreless at the break.
The Gladbach defender slipped and appears to have pulled something. He'll soldier on until the break.
Thuram edged out
A ball over the top finds Thuram in a good position inside the Union box, his back to goal. The France forward is soon ushered out and the move breaks down.
Shot count increasing
Behrens floors Weigl and is booked.
Bensebaini has a go
Aissa Laidouni trips Thuram right on the edge of the area. A booking for Union's defender and a free kick for the hosts in a super position. Bensebaini smacks the set-piece straight into the wall.
ReviewInside penalty area?
Omlin saves hosts
Becker's shot is deflected up into the air by Itakura and it's flying goalwards, until Omlin throws a hand up and claws the ball away from danger.
A powerful run by Josip Juranovic down the right has Gladbach in trouble. The Croatian's cut-back is inadvertently deflected into Omlin's hands by Itakura.
Jerome Roussillon makes the clearance and then has Neuhaus slide and upend him. That's a yellow for the Gladbach attacking midfielder.
Behrens goes close
Khedira wins possession and feeds Becker, who in turns plays Behrens through. The forward lets fly and the ball swipes the side-netting as it flashes wide. Behrens is hurt.
Chances at a premium
Both sides probing but openings have been few. Kone tries one from distance but Rönnow is behind the shot all the way.
Nothing in it
Foals' chance gone
Thuram and then Hofmann fluff a big chance for Gladbach to open the scoring. The former should have played his teammate in a lot earlier. Hofmann did eventually end up in possession, but was forced out by the retreating Union defenders.
Becker gets into his stride and powers down the left. Itakura slides in and misses the ball completely, upending the Union forward. An early booking for the Gladbach man.
Solid start by Union. Khedira has the game's first shot, which fails to trouble Omlin in the Gladbach goal.

Can Gladbach stop Union?
With six rounds of remaining, Union can cap a memorable season by qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Union Berlin. In the Champions League. You couldn't write it! If they win again in Mönchengladbach, Die Eisernen will consolidate third place for another week. For their part, the hot-and cold Foals begin the weekend in 10th, but still with an outside shot at a top-seven finish.
