Ernst secures the victory!

Fortuna almost manage to salvage something, but Ernst makes a brilliant save to divert a low shot from close range around the right post!

Krattenmacher's Screamer

His first goal for Hertha and his fourth goal in Bundesliga 2.

Goooooal! Krattenmacher hammers home!

The 30th shot of the match finally finds its way into the net! Reese wins a second ball in midfield and spots Krattenmacher unmarked on the right. He rounds Daland and smashes the ball into the net from just inside the box. Incredible!

Over!

Reese quickly redirects a Gechter header with his foot. The ball sails over the visitors' goal!
86'

Iyoha!

The Fortuna left wing-back receives a perfect lay off from the substitute Celar, and strikes the ball well with his right foot, yet it fizzes past the right post!

Where are the goals?

info-small
xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals> xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals> goals).
Statistically speaking, both teams should have scored at least one goal by now.

Düsseldorf's away record

Düsseldorf have scored in their last 15 away matches, with their last goalless performance coming on 1st November 2024 in the 0-1 defeat at Münster. Will that streak end today?
79'

Unbeatable goalkeepers!

Kastenmeier has to intervene again to stop Reese from close range – then Fortuna manage to get forward, but this time it is Ernst who makes the stop.
camera-photo

Kastenmeier in fine form

Düsseldorf's goalkeeper has had to make a couple of big saves in this second half.
76'

Unbelievable!

Another massive chance for Hertha – and again Kastenmeier makes the save. This time with just one hand! Thorsteinsson played it low across the box, where Oberdorf at the far post nearly turns it into his own net, but Kastenmeier is there.
75'

More substitutions

Instead of disrupting the game, the subs are really bringing the game to life. Can one of them grab the opener?
71'

Next counter-attack opportunity

Yet again, Hertha are too slow with the ball.
71'

Foolish

Zimmermann throws his whole body into Krattenmacher and earns himself a yellow card.

camera-professional-play-symbol

How did that not go in?!

Unbelievable! Almost out of nowhere, Hertha suddenly have THE chance to take the lead. Reese plays a low cross from the right across goal, which evades Krattenmacher but falls to Thorsteinsson. The striker has the goal at his mercy, but he scuffs his effort into the grateful arms of Kastenmeier.
68'

He can't continue

Kenneth Schmidt cannot continue, though he has defended tremendously today. Heyer replaces him. Additionally, the rather inconspicuous Muslija makes way for Appelkamp.
66'

Another one down

Schmidt has cramp in his thigh and the Düsseldorf medical staff rush onto the pitch. It doesn't look like he'll be able to continue.
65'

Hit on the head

Zimmermann is caught on the head in a challenge, but is able to continue after receiving treatment on the pitch.
63'

Goalless Thorsteinsson

The forward once scored to give Iceland a 1-0 victory at Wembley against England, but after 25 matches in Bundesliga 2, he is still without a goal.
61'

Almost an instant impact

The new Hertha players immediately bring fresh impetus. Thorsteinsson sends Krattenmacher through, but he can't hold his own against several Fortuna players and doesn't manage to get a shot away. Nevertheless, the Old Lady can take heart from this move.
59'

Substitution time

Rasmussen goes off for Fortuna, having been very lively in the first half, while Hertha boss Leitl brings on three fresh attacking players with Krattenmacher, Thorsteinsson and Grönning. Can the substitutes breathe new life into the match?
57'

A shot at last

Zimmermann tries to clear a cross with his head, but heads it straight to the opponent. The ball finds its way to Schuler, who shoots low and wide.
55'

Blocked by the ref

Willenborg integrates himself into Berlin's build-up play by being unintentionally passed to - will that benefit Hertha?
53'

No takers

Iyoha's cross from the left wing does find a head, but not the one he intended. Gechter clears the ball out of the danger zone.
50'

Season record

Düsseldorf have had 15 shots so far – no other second division team has managed that many attempts before half-time this season.

Too low

The Hertha players position themselves very close to Kastenmeister's goal for a corner, but Cuisance's delivery isn't high enough to create any danger.
46'

Encouragement for Hertha

Eight of the Berliners' 11 goals this season have been scored after the interval.
46'

We're back underway!

The ball is rolling again, no changes on either side at the break.
後半開始

Half-time: Hertha 0-0 Fortuna

Hertha started the match with a lot of possession, but then became too passive. As a result, Düsseldorf got more and more into the game and soon had an xGoals value of one, but they couldn't make the most of their chances. The Old Lady then improved again and created their first dangerous attacks, but likewise lacked a cutting edge.

Stoppage time

There'll be one minute added on.
43'

Too far ahead

The entire stadium is waiting for a shot from Cuisance, who drives into the penalty area from the right, but he pushes the ball too far ahead and thus ruins a promising chance for himself.
42'

Not quite

Reese makes his way all the way to the left byline, but then delivers a poor cross. He probably wanted to find Winkler, but got his angles wrong.
39'

Side netting!

There it is – the first shot from the Old Lady! Cuisance delays his pass to Eichhorn twice and holds off Schmidt. Eichhorn then fires from close range but can only hit the side netting.
37'

Not quite

Zimmermann sends a high, deep cross to Oyoha at the far post. The defender tries a header, but Gechter deflects the ball, which loops up and lands on top of Ernst's goal.
35'

Lovely chip

Daland finds the Schmidt with a beautiful chip over the Hertha defence, but he makes far too little of the opportunity given the amount of space he had.
34'

Spectator

Kastenmeier has only touched the ball 10 times so far – the fewest of all 22 players on the pitch. This is further evidence of Hertha's ineffectiveness in the final third.
32'

Hertha regaining composure

Hertha are enjoying more of the ball again but they're not creating anything particularly dangerous from it at the moment.
camera-photo

Too imprecise

The pass completion rate for both teams is around 78 percent, meaning that roughly every fourth pass is going astray.

All alone

Winkler receives the ball on the right wing and rushes towards the Düsseldorf goal. He wants to play it inside, but Kenneth Schmidt sticks out his foot and blocks the attempt.

Double yellow

First Eichhorn goes in too hard on a tackle, then Cuisance complains too loudly in the referee's view - both are cautioned.
23'

Counter-attack!

After a Düsseldorf free-kick, Hertha have the chance to get forward in transition, but Zimmermann makes a tackle on Seguin. Reese then takes over the ball, but slows down the tempo.

Unbelievable!

Chances coming every minute for Fortuna! Danny Schmidt misses with a header, but gets a second chance because Leistner unintentionally sets him up. The striker's powerful shot whistles just past the left post.
18'

Rasmussen again

The right winger is involved in everything right now. After a good dribble, he aims for the top left corner of the goal but misses by a whisker.
16'

Bold start

With four shots on goal, including three clear-cut chances, Düsseldorf have already had as many attempts as in the entire first half of their last match against Braunschweig.
14'

Fortuna getting closer!

Düsseldorf stay up after the corner – including defender Oberdorf. He gets a free header in the penalty area after a cross from the right, Ernst sticks out his right arm and makes a strong save! Just moments later, Daland's attempt at a finish slices off his foot.
12'

Battled through

Rasmussen manages to keep the ball, somewhat fortunately, against both Karbownik and Cuisance, and then even gets a shot away from close range and a tight angle. It's deflected for the visitors' first corner.
11'

Slight advantage

Hertha started the match with a lot of possession, but in the last few minutes the teams are becoming more and more even in this statistic.

Deflected

Winkler crosses from the left but it's headed out for a corner by the first Fortuna defender. This corner also poses no danger.
7'

First shot!

That the visitors would have it wasn't really on the cards given the first few minutes. But suddenly Rasmussen appears free in front of Ernst, but the Düsseldorf player blasts the ball a good metre over the crossbar.
7'

Where is Reese?

Gechter thinks Reese is on the right wing, at least that's where he plays the ball. But there's only a Fortuna player to be found there.
5'

First corner

Reese tries to thread the ball through to the front, but Oberdorf is quicker, plays it safe and clears the ball away. The first corner kick follows, but it doesn't pose any danger.
3'

Moving forward

Gechter presses well on the right flank and thus creates space for the home side. However, they don't exploit it purposefully enough.
2'

Playing it safe at the back

Hertha are keeping the ball in their defensive lines and allowing Fortuna to come forward.
1'

Peeeep!

The ball is rolling, the hosts have kicked off.

The players are coming out

Both teams are entering the pitch and are being loudly greeted by their respective supporters. We're about to kick off!

The Referee

Frank Willenborg is officiating the match. The referee's most recent assignment was in the Bundesliga at the end of September during Bayern's 4-0 home victory against Bremen. Willenborg has refereed Hertha three times in the 2. Bundesliga so far, with the Berlin side collecting only one point.

Milestone for Gechter

Linus Gechter, recently deployed as a right-back, is making his 50th appearance in Bundesliga 2 today (five for Braunschweig, 45 for Hertha).

A look at the benches

At Fortuna, Karim Affo is included in the squad for the first time this season, 2.04-metre giant Elias Egouli is fit again and in the squad for the first time since the end of August. For Hertha, someone appears in the second division squad for the first time since September 2024, who had left in the meantime and then got a contract again two weeks ago: Jeremy Dudziak is back!

Schuler allowed to start

Just like Düsseldorf, Hertha also makes two changes, also affecting an offensive midfielder and the central striker. Sebastian Grönning gets a rest, Luca Schuler starts for the first time since March 2025 and reaps the reward for his substitute goal in Bochum. Schuler is the most effective Berlin player, he has only played 48 minutes this season and has already scored twice.

Fit again

Michaël Cuisance has recovered from the thigh problems that caused him to miss the Bochum match. The Frenchman returns to the starting XI, with Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson making way.

Chance for Schmidt

Second change for the visitors from Düsseldorf: Danny Schmidt, after six substitute appearances this season, gets to start for the first time this term. He benefits from Cedric Itten's absence. Zan Celar was also a candidate to replace Itten, but once again only makes the bench.

Rasmussen starts

Christian Rasmussen was the most noticeable Fortune player as a substitute against Braunschweig, now he moves into the starting XI for the first time since Matchday 5, replacing Luca Raimund. So far, the Dane has started three times, with the record from these three matches being: three defeats, one goal scored, 10 conceded...
camera-photo

Markus Anfang on facing Hertha

"We know that we are facing an ambitious opponent with quality, but we're preparing during the week in such a way that we keep the probability as high as possible to win the match."
camera-photo

Stefan Leitl on facing Düsseldorf

"The guys' mission is to recover the points lost in the Bochum match. It'll be important to eliminate individual errors and put in maximum energy, because we want to start our week of home games positively."

DFB Cup final

Düsseldorf won the DFB Cup in 1979 by beating Hertha 1-0 after extra-time. The decisive goal was scored by Wolfgang Seel in the 116th minute.

Hertha's last victory against Düsseldorf...

...came in the Bundesliga on 4 October 2019 (3-1 at home). In Bundesliga 2, the Old Lady last won against Fortuna in January 2011 (4-2 at home).
camera-photo

Emotional play-off clash

Fortuna have lost only one of their last 10 competitive matches against Hertha (six wins, three draws), including a memorable relegation play-off victory against the capital club in May 2012 (2-1 away win, 2-2 draw at home).
camera-photo

First win under Anfang?

Düsseldorf won both encounters against Hertha last season (2-1, 2-0) and are unbeaten in five competitive matches against the Berliners (three wins, two draws).
