Full-time: Stuttgart 5-1 Dortmund

The home side ended Dortmund's unbeaten run in incredible fashion, scoring five past them in a resounding victory that saw Undav score two goals at either end of the game. Millot was fantastic throughout, getting two assists and a goal as Stuttgart made it a miserable return to the MHPArena for Anton and Guirassy. The former Stuttgart striker did get a goal against his former side, but it was little more than a consolation.

Familiar faces

Stuttgart welcome back two notable former players in Anton and Guirassy, while Dan-Axel Zagadou and former Dortmund youth team player Chris Führich will also be facing their old club.

European adventure

Both sides come into this fixture on the back of midweek Champions League fixtures away from home, with Stuttgart facing Real Madrid and Dortmund facing Club Brugge. Stuttgart performed admirably against Real, equalising late in the game through Deniz Undav before eventually falling to a 3-1 defeat. Dortmund won their fixture 3-0 thanks to goals from Jamie Gittens (2) and Serhou Guirassy.

Mixed feelings

The home side have had an interesting start to the season, losing one, drawing one and winning one while conceding seven goals in the process. Their recent win against a good Gladbach side will have filled them with plenty of confidence ahead of today's clash with an unbeaten Dortmund side.

All set in Stuttgart !

We're in for a real treat with this Matchday 4 barnstormer between Stuttgart and Dortmund. Both sides are fresh from performing in the UEFA Champions League and will be keen to get back to business in the Bundesliga where three huge points are on offer today.

Sahin starts strong

Despite being relatively new to senior management, Sahin's Dortmund have started the season well. They have won two of their opening three games and drawn the other, scoring six and conceding two.

New man in the dugout

Although Stuttgart were unbeaten against Dortmund last season, they'll be coming up against a new look side today. As well as poaching Waldemar Anton and Guirassy from Stuttgart, they've got a new head coach in the dugout, Nuri Sahin.

Seeking revenge

Stuttgart did the triple over Dortmund last season, winning home and away in the league and once in the DFB Cup. The most recent of those wins saw Serhou Guirassy score the only goal of the game for Stuttgart, a man who is now a part of the visiting squad today.

Sebastian Hoeneß on facing Dortmund

"It's not often you face two UEFA Champions League finalists within the space of a few days. We don't have time to consider how we are feeling, but we have to prepare as well as we can. We are facing a top team in Dortmund. We want to play well against a good team that has strengthened hugely in the summer. We are ready to take on the challenge."
camera-photo

Nuri Şahin on facing Stuttgart

"Stuttgart are a team with a clear idea. Sebastian Hoeneß has a big influence on the team, and they know exactly what they are doing. They are getting increasingly into gear at the moment – they are a strong team."
