Kenan Karaman played for Hannover from 2014 to 2018, was relegated from the Bundesliga with the 96ers in 2016 and promoted again in 2017 - he made 56 Bundesliga (four goals) and 31 Bundesliga 2 appearances (six goals) for them.

André Breitenreiter was the manager at S04 in the 2015/16 season, finishing fifth in the Bundesliga and playing in the Europa League.
