Borussia Dortmund’s 15-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko receives Germany U19s call-up
Borussia Dortmund’s 15-year-old prodigy Youssoufa Moukoko has been rewarded for his explosive form at youth club level with a maiden call-up to Germany's U19s team.
Moukoko, who turned 15 in November, has scored an eye-watering 33 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions in his debut season with the Dortmund U19s. He debuted for the Germany U16s at the age of 12 and went on to score three times in four games, but U19s coach Meikel Schönweitz says "the time has come for him to take the next step" in his international career.

Moukoko, who was born in Cameroon on 24 November 2004, joined Dortmund from Bundesliga 2 side St. Pauli in 2016 and immediately hit the ground running.
In 2016/17, Moukoko was top scorer in the club's all-conquering U15 side, netting 33 times in 21 games to help them win the Regionalliga West title with five matches to spare. He finished the 2017/18 campaign with 40 goals as Dortmund’s U17s topped their regional division, before lifting the national title. Borussia fell short of defending their crown the following season, despite 50 goals from their prized teen.
Dortmund’s U19s are currently second in the U19 West division, with Moukoko having accounted for 54 per cent of their 54 league goals. He could make his Germany U19s debut in the UEFA U19 championship qualifier against Wales on 25 March. Schönweitz’s side also face Austria (28 March) and Serbia (31 March), with a place at the UEFA U19 finals on the line.
