
Augsburg sign Fortuna Düsseldorf's Sima Suso
Germany youth international Sima Suso has completed a move to Augsburg on a five-year contract through to 30 June 2031.
Suso made 24 appearances in Bundesliga 2 last season as Fortuna Düsseldorf were relegated to the third tier.
The 21-year-old midfielder has also gained first-team experience in 3. Liga with Hansa Rostock.
"Sima has a very exciting skillset," explained Augsburg sporting director Benjamin Weber. "He can play in a number of positions and already has plenty of competitive experience despite his young age. The fact that he featured regularly in Bundesliga 2 last season underlines both his potential and his quality."
"I’m very happy to be joining Augsburg," added Suso, who started out with the Bayer Leverkusen youths and has represented Germany at U18, U19 and U20 level, is relishing the chance to play Bundesliga football for the first time.

Augsburg finished ninth in 2025/26, securing a 16th successive season of Bundesliga football.
Manuel Baum's side start the new campaign away to Energie Cottbus in the DFB Cup first round (22 August), before hosting promoted Schalke on Bundesliga Matchday 1 (29 August).
