After beating the Lion City Sailors 7-2 in Singapore on 24 November, Dortmund followed that with a 4-1 win over the Johor Southern Tigers in Malaysia on 28 November. As well as registering a morale-boosting 4-2 win in an exhibition match over Cologne, Stuttgart will attend American Football and basketball matches. Like the Billy Goats, they were based at MLS club Austin FC's St. David's Performance Center. Local youngsters also took part in VfB football school camps. The tour is part of the DFL's internationalisation strategy for the Bundesliga.

Representing the DFL, German football and HSV internationally, the Red Shorts returned to the USA for the first time in 22 years. Tour highlights included a friendly against Orange County Soccer Club in Irvine, California on 15 November, which the Bundesliga 2 side won 1-0.
