Fantasy Team of the Season so far!
Bayern Munich's Michael Olise has earned more Fantasy Manager points than any other player so far this season, but who else joins him in a Best XI after four rounds of matches?
Goalkeeper:
Maarten Vandevoordt, RB Leipzig (774 points): The Belgian international is averaging 194 points per game so far and has made the Fantasy Top XI twice, on Matchdays 1 and 3. In those games against Gladbach (3-0) and HSV (5-0), Leipzig’s goalkeeper kept clean sheets, while he has made 17 saves in total.
Defenders:
Maximilian Mittelstädt, VfB Stuttgart (863): Averaging 216 points per game, Mittelstädt has been a must-have. He made the Fantasy Top XI on Matchday 3 for his performance against Hoffenheim, in which the VfB left-back not only scored a goal but was also involved in the most shots. He also provided an assist at home to Cologne on Matchday 2.
Willi Orbán, Leipzig (882): Orbán remains the leader of Leipzig’s defence this term. Like teammate Vandevoordt, he was named in the Team of the Week on Matchday 3 after getting on the scoresheet against HSV and recording the most touches. The Hungary international has averaged 221 points across the first four matchdays.
Miguel Gutiérrez, Bayer Leverkusen (957): The 25-year-old Spaniard had big shoes to fill as a replacement for compatriot Alejandro Grimaldo at left-back, but has impressed so far, averaging 239 points and making the Team of the Week twice. He has also posed a threat in the final third, registering one goal and three assists.
Midfielders
Michael Olise, Bayern Munich (1,518): Olise has been the standout player of the Bundesliga season so far – and not just in terms of Fantasy points. The Frenchman has four goals and one assist, putting him level with Marco Grüll as the player with the most direct goal contributions. He hit a hat-trick in the 7-0 rout of Union – his first ever in the Bundesliga, and made the Top XI on Matchdays 1 and 4.
Ibrahim Maza, Leverkusen (909): Still just 20, the Algerian international is already making a big impression in Leverkusen. After four matchdays, Maza has one goal and one assist to his name. He made the Team of the Week on Matchdays 2 and 4 and has averaged 227 points.
Aleksandar Pavlović, Bayern (888): Pavlović is a fixture in Bayern’s central midfield alongside Joshua Kimmich and has once again impressed this season. The Bayern academy product has one goal and one assist and has averaged 222 points in Fantasy Manager.
Yuito Suzuki, Freiburg (988): The 24-year-old is among the players level with Olise at the top of the scoring charts. The Japan international has already found the net four times, including a hat-trick against Bremen on Matchday 1. The Freiburg attacker has averaged 247 points and made the Team of the Week on Matchdays 1 and 4.
Forwards
Marco Grüll, Werder Bremen (906): Grüll has so far been one of Bremen’s key difference-makers alongside Niclas Füllkrug, with the Austrian so far posting two goals and three assists. His best performance came in the 3-2 win over Augsburg, when Grüll pulled a goal back before setting up Bremen’s other two. He has averaged 227 points and made the Top XI on Matchday 2.
Phillip Tietz, Mainz (1,029): With an average of 257 points, Tietz is Mainz’s most in-form player and was considered a candidate for the Germany squad for good reason. He has scored in each of the last three matchdays, including twice away to Hamburg on Matchday 2. That performance also earned him a place in the Top XI.
Igor Matanović, Freiburg (1,123): The 23-year-old has picked up where he left off last season and already has three goals to his name. On Matchday 1 against Bremen, he scored once and set up another, while he struck twice against Gladbach on Matchday 3 – making the Fantasy Top XI on both occasions. Now developing into an increasingly complete striker, the Croatian international has averaged 281 points per game this term.
