Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer sidelined due to 'fluid on the foot' - Max Eberl
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer remains an injury doubt for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal due to an accumulation of fluid on his foot.
Manuel Neuer, 40, has missed Bayern’s last two games - the 3-3 Champions League draw at Viking Stavanger and the 6-1 Bundesliga victory at home to RB Leipzig - with what head coach Vincent Kompany had described as a foot problem.
Bayern’s board member for sport Max Eberl issued an update on the veteran keeper’s fitness after Saturday’s thumping win at the Allianz Arena, telling reporters: “It’s nothing serious - it’s just a bit of fluid on the foot.

“He wasn’t quite ready for [Saturday], so we’ll see if he’ll be ready by Wednesday.”
Neuer has been training on his own since the eve of Bayern’s 3-3 draw in Norway, with Jonas Urbig starting both their last two games.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner has made six appearances for Bayern in all competitions this season, and will become the Bavarians’ oldest player in Bundesliga history on his next league outing.
Eberl also revealed that Jamal Musiala, who has been sidelined since suffering a thigh injury during the warm-up of Germany’s 1-1 UEFA Nations League draw in the Netherlands, is closing in on a return to action.
“I don’t think he’ll be ready for the game against Arsenal,” Eberl said of the 23-year-old. “He’s working his way back, slowly but surely.
“He’ll be back in October, though.”
