Bayern Munich confirm Manuel Neuer partial tendon tear
Bayern Munich have confirmed that Manuel Neuer has suffered a partial tendon tear in his right foot, an injury which forced him off in the first half of Bayern's Matchday 9 victory over Mainz on what was his 550th Bundesliga appearance.
Neuer had missed the previous two Bundesliga fixtures, also with a foot injury, but was able to return to the starting line-up for the trip to the MEWA Arena.
His participation in the game made him the oldest Bayern player in the history of the German top flight but, shortly before the break, he appeared to injure himself in the build-up to a Mainz goal that was ultimately ruled out for offside, and was replaced by Jonas Urbig.
"It's the same problem he had before," said Bayern's board member for sport Max Eberl after full-time. "It's resurfaced now. We hope it's not too serious."

Now, the Bavarians have revealed that Neuer has suffered a partial tear in his right foot following an examination conducted by Bayern's medical department. The club have stated he will be out "for the time being" without specifying the length of his absence.
Neuer has made nine appearances in all competitions this campaign and has won the joint-most Bundesliga titles alongside Thomas Müller with 13. He currently sits 52 appearances behind Charly Köbel's all-time Bundesliga appearance record of 602 games.
