Manuel Neuer becomes Bayern Munich's oldest-ever Bundesliga player
Manuel Neuer has become Bayern Munich's oldest Bundesliga player of all-time after featuring in the champions Matchday 9 clash at Mainz.
Neuer's latest appearance, his 394th Bundesliga appearance for Bayern since his switch from Schalke in 2011, and his 550th overall, came at age 40 years and 225 days, moving him past Bernd Dreher at the top of the rankings.
It is the latest milestone in Neuer's illustrious career. Alongside Thomas Müller, he has won a record 13 Bundesliga titles and leads the way in wins and clean sheets. Even at the age of 40, he continues to shine between the sticks as Bayern go in search of more silverware.
While Neuer is now Bayern's oldest-ever player, he has some way to go to move to the top of the Bundesliga rankings. Klaus Fichtel currently leads the way, having made his final appearance for Schalke at 43 years and 184 days, while current Royal Blue striker Edin Džeko (40 years, 228 days on Matchday 8) also sits above Neuer.
