Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala becomes youngest player in history to record 100 Bundesliga wins
Making his first league start for Bayern Munich against Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 23 following a long period of absence due to injury, Jamal Musiala not only helped his side extend their lead at the top of the table but also claimed an impressive individual accolade in the process.
At the age of 22 years and 360 days - ahead of his 23rd birthday on Thursday - Musiala recorded his 100th Bundesliga victory in just his 145th Bundesliga appearance as Bayern saw off Frankfurt in a five-goal thriller.
In doing so, the No.10 became the youngest player in Bundesliga history - as well as the only player under the age of 23 - to claim a century of league wins, beating previous record holder Mario Götze by 85 days.
Incidentally, Götze, who came on as a substitute for the Eagles at the hour mark, had held the record for over 10 years, having set it back in 2015 aged 23 years and 80 days whilst on the Bavarians' books.
Since making his debut in the German top flight for the record champions back in June 2020 at the age of 17, coming on as a substitue late on in a 3-1 downing of Freiburg, Musiala has netted 45 times on his way to this stunning feat.
What's more, the current campaign has been one of the toughest of Musiala's career after he suffered a leg break in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals back in early July that left him sidelined for six months.
Nevertheless, now back and fully fit, Musiala seems to have put the injury behind him and appears laser focused on the task at hand - Bayern's title defence.
Speaking after the game against Frankfurt, Musiala was not concerned by his own individual achievement but rather made it clear he is not satisfied with anything less than 100 percent from those around him.

"We have to learn from this. With what we want to achieve this season, we can’t afford moments like that. Luckily, we still picked up the three points," declared the midfielder.
Musiala also had one eye on the Matchday 24 instalment of Der Klassiker away to Borussia Dortmund, which he knows could have massive ramifications on this season's title race.
Intent on setting the mindset example, the five-time Meisterschale-winner called for concentration in the business end of the season, adding: "We now have a week until the Klassiker to review everything. We have to keep our energy and our focus at 100 percent at all times - no matter which game, no matter which minute. That’s what we have to do to achieve our goals."
