Borussia Dortmund to wear special jersey against Augsburg
Borussia Dortmund will wear a limited edition shirt against Augsburg as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of their maiden Bundesliga title.
In 1994/95, the Dortmund clinched their maiden Bundesliga title, pipping Werder Bremen to the Meisterschale by a single point (during the two-points-for-a-win era), doing so in a memorable neon-yellow shirt.
Thirty years on from that unforgettable triumph, the club are marking the occasion with the release of a special edition jersey. Also neon-yellow with black sleeves, BVB hope the launch "encourages people to go their own way - to be brave, loud and colorful, no matter how crazy it seems," all under the slogan of "Dare to stand out".
Not only will the first team run out in the shirt against Augsburg on Matchday 25, supporters will be able to purchase it from 10am CET on 7 March right here. It will be packaged in a special box and costs €95, while long-sleeved editions are also available. Moreover, fans can customise their jerseys with the names and numbers of legends from the 1994/95 title-winning ensemble like Matthias Sammer, Andreas Möller and Michael Zorc.
