Bazoumana Touré leaves Hoffenheim for Newcastle United
Bazoumana Touré has left Hoffenheim to join English Premier League side Newcastle United.
Touré, who joined the Sinsheim outfit in the 2025 winter transfer window, was one of head coach Christian Ilzer’s standout performers last term, helping the club secure a fifth-place Bundesliga finish and a return to the UEFA Europa League.
The 20-year-old registered five goals and 12 assists in 43 Bundesliga appearances overall, and was also part of the Côte d’Ivoire squad that reached the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
"TSG was like a family to me," said Touré. "We shared a wonderful and successful time together, during which I was able to develop both as a player and as a person. I would like to sincerely thank my team-mates and coaches, as well as every single person at the club and the fans.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge of the Premier League, but TSG will always hold a special place in my heart."
Hoffenheim's managing director for sport, Andreas Schicker, added: "Since joining from Sweden in February 2025, Bazou has made exceptional progress – and the coaching staff led by Chris Ilzer deserve a great deal of credit for that.

"His performances played a key role in what was the second-best season in the club's history. We sincerely wish Bazou all the very best and every success as he takes on this new challenge in the Premier League."
Touré joins a Magpies squad featuring striker-turned-midfielder Joelinton, who left Hoffenheim for the north-east of England in 2019.
