Ricky-Jade Jones, Yan Diomande and the Bundesliga's top sprinters so far in 2025/26
St. Pauli's Ricky-Jade Jones registered the fastest speed of the 2025/26 campaign as the Kiezkicker drew with local rivals Hamburg on Matchday 19. But who else features in the top five? Get the lowdown on the quickest times posted by the league’s very best speedsters…
Which of these top sprinters are in your fantasy team?
1) Ricky-Jade Jones (St. Pauli) - 22.66 mph (36.46 km/h)
During his time at Peterborough United, Jones surpassed the 37 km/h barrier. While he has not matched that during his time at St. Pauli since joining in the summer just yet, his top speed of 36.46 km/h leads the way in the Bundesliga in 2025/26.
However, even Jones still has some way to go to match the top speeds of previous seasons. The Bundesliga speed record, set back in March by Eintracht Frankfurt's Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, stands at 23.09 mph (37.16 km/h). Jones' 22.66 mph sprint doesn’t even crack the all-time top 10 since data tracking began.

2) Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) – 22.56 mph (36.3 km/h)
With his near-instantaneous acceleration, Leipzig's Ivorian starlet has been a nightmare for defenders this season since joining in the summer. His speed is a major weapon, and he uses it often, sitting inside the top three for Leipzig in terms of intensive runs and sprints.
Fleet-footed and fearless in possession, Diomande has firmly established himself as a genuine game changer this season.

3) Oliver Burke (Union Berlin) - 22.38 mph (36.01 km/h)
At one point, Burke was the only player to have broken the 36 km/h barrier in 2025/26, but Jones' and Diomande's pacey Matchday 19 saw him drop down to third for the campaign. However, there is every chance the Scot could move back to the top of the pile once more given he managed a speed of 36.72 km/h (22.82 mph) last season.
4) Bazoumana Touré (Hoffenheim) – 22.36 mph (35.98 km/h)
Another youngster who has no qualms about bursting forward is Hoffenheim’s speed machine, Touré. The 19-year-old also features in the top 15 for the most sprints in the Bundesliga, too, and you wouldn't bet against him improving on that speed between now and the end of the campaign.
5) Justin Njinmah (Werder Bremen) – 22.3 mph (35.89 km/h)
Rounding out the top five is the Bundesliga’s fastest German. Njinmah clocked a personal top speed of 22.3 mph (35.89 km/h) on Matchday 9 in Werder Bremen’s 1–1 draw away at Mainz. His constant, high-octane energy proved vital in controlling the contest and ultimately helped Bremen snatch a late point.
